Enervest to explore Volitile oil in Stark and Tusc.

EV Energy Partners has said it intends to keep an additional 73,500 acres in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, at least for now. The acreage being retained totals 56,600 acres in Ohio and 16,900 acres in Pennsylvania.

The company said it intends to keep its shallow vertical-only wells in Ohio’s Clinton sandstone and the deeper Knox wells.

Walker also announced in Friday’s teleconference that his companies and a partner are developing a new plan to drill 20 new exploratory oil wells in three areas of Stark and Tuscarawas counties.

That drilling could begin late this year, officials said.

The company is seeking to locate and develop what’s called the volatile Utica oil window that drillers so far have largely been unable to tap.

The project’s partner was identified by Walker only as a privately held energy company with acreage near EnerVest’s holdings.

James thanks for sharing. Hopefully they will use their future drilling to "crack the code" for oil and it'll be the beginning of something good for the area. Unfortunately, chk is notorious for not increasing royalty % and it's a take it or leave it proposition. It's a personal decision whether to take or leave...so best of luck to all of you!

Not that it impacts your situation, but I think there is only one horizontal drilled on the Gribi pad and nothing on the Mizer pad?

  I personally seen Mizer pad with a pump jack and tanks ..also seen a truck Friday 9/20 draining a tank

THESE NEW WELLS ARE NOT USING PUMPJACKS SO U ARE LOOKING AT A CONVENTIONAL WELL NOT A HORIZANAL UTICA .....PROBABLY A CLINTON WELL OR MAYBE A ROSERUN ......A HORIZONAL CAN NOT USE A PUMPJACK SORRY

Mike, The Utica Wells in Tusc County are using very large pump jacks. They have to use them for now because of pressure issues to help get the oil to the surface.

FIRST I HEARD OF ANY USE OF A PUMPJACK ON A HORIZANIL WELL .........THE ROD WEAR WILL NOT ALLOW FOR A PUMP AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HOLE BESIDES THE WEAR ON THE TUBING ......U BE FISHING FOR BROKEN RODS AND REPLACING THE TUBING MORE THEN IT WOULD BE WORTH ..........I THINK U MAYBE LOOKING AT ROSERUN VERTICAL WELLS ......WHICH USE MUCH BIGGER PUMPJACKS THEN A CLINTON WELL USES .......WHEN WERE THESE WELL DRILLED U ARE TALKING ABOUT .......NOT MANY UTICAS HAVE BEEN DRILLED IN TUSC COUNTY YET ......JUST LIKE VERY FEW IN STARK AND WESTERN CARROLL COUNTY

U ONLY HAVE 2 WELLS IN ALL OF TUSC COUNTY IN PRODUCTION SO I DONT KNOW WHERE U ARE SEEING ALL THESE PUMPJACKS BUT THERE NOT ON UTICA WELLS LOOK AT THE WELL COUNT REPORT ON HERE UPDATED WEEKLY AND U WILL SEE U ONLY HAVE 2 WELLS PRODUCING AS OF LAST WEEK

Mike I have been following this play for a couple years now. There are Utica wells in Tusc using pump jacks. The Troyer well in Tusc is using one and the Beachy well and the Gribi well. I have seen these Utica wells and the pump jacks with my own eyes. Others that post on here that live near these wells have seen them..

You really seem to want to be right on this subject but you are not sorry. Do you even live in Tusc county? I do as well as most that post on this forum. Also there is a well called the Geatches well that uses a pump jack and is a Utica well. I believe that well is in Mahoning county.
