This is an urgent update on the fight to stop funding Obamacare.

Senators Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and John Cornyn (R-TX) -- the top two Republican leaders in the U.S. Senate -- announced yesterday that they will support "cloture" on the government funding bill, giving Harry Reid and the Democrats a procedural green light to fund Obamacare with only 50 votes.

Breitbart News is reporting that McConnell and Cornyn are using their leadership positions to pressure other Republicans to oppose Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT) in their effort to defund Obamacare.

According to a senior staffer quoted in the news report, "Nobody is fighting harder to make sure Obamacare is funded than Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn."

This is the ultimate betrayal.

TAKE ACTION: Tell Senate Republicans to Stand With Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, Not Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn

We knew Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn weren't with us when they voted to fund Obamacare earlier this year. But then, under pressure from grassroots, they said they supported the effort to defund it. They even ran political ads in their home states to make voters think they were on their side.

But now, faced with the prospect of having to fight for the things they claim to believe, these Senate leaders have surrendered.

Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn have surrendered to Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and the Democrats. More importantly, they have surrendered to Obamacare -- the biggest job killer in America.

We can't let these turncoats force millions of Americans into this liberal train wreck.

Obamacare is unaffordable, unworkable, and it's unfair.

Would you  want the cheapest doctor  ?

You never know,  the cheapest doctor might be the smartest showing a real understanding of economics.  

Think about this Chip.  Your thought pattern in your comment shows me you deviate toward panic.  The most common reasons people see a doctor is not b/c they are in the middle of a heart attack.  However the office visit to a doctor/cardiologist is where the most frequent evaluations occur to show there's an issue.  If each cardiologist had to post their top 20 procedures with prices, you'd have a good idea about what the financial burden might be to you.

If one cardiologist A  bills out $5K for a stint, perhaps you's be just as comfortable choosing cardiologist B that bills out $4K, and does twice as many procedures.  With a 10% deductable, I'd have $100 more in my pocket if I choose doctor B.  Even if Cardiologist A is better he'd likely start dropping his price after seeing less business flow through his door.

The top 20 procedures for each type of doctor probably accounts for 85% of their time.  Like the proctologist....I bet his scope procedure accounts for 35% of his procedures.

I think there's a lot to be gained with implementing this model but politicians usually fail at real critical thinking every step of the way.

A poll was taken where 83% of the doctors were considering leaving medicine, because they understand more than anyone this bill is a train wreck. The Democrat Party never cared about the doctors opinions because this bad bill was never about good medicine.

Great talking point to support a bias but not sure that is a fair conclusion to draw considering the survey didn't even ask doctors directly about the bill-

 

1. How do current changes in the medical system affect your desire to practice medicine?

I'm re-energized - 4.6%

Makes me think about quitting - 82.6%            

Unsure/no opinion - 12.8%

I also thought responses to this question from the same survey were interesting. I'll let people draw their own conclusions though-

Agree.

I work for Bayer Healthcare.  When the law was passed, Bayer started to cut R&D expenses dramatically.  Projects for new innovative products were cut while projects that cost reduced an existing product were funded.  Medical device companies rely on reimbursement rates to justify R&D costs.  The gov pays approximately 80% of the bill that an insurance company pays.  i.e. Less new cutting edge technologies/procedures will be available in the future. 

The doctor situation is simple supply and demand. Why would an intelligent young person capable of being a doctor, prefer to be squeezed by the gov over their career when they have the tools to do something else where they can make a very comfortable living?  Unless the person is called to the profession, which many are, I see many potential doctors moving in another direction.  Fewer doctors and a lower skill level on average.

Call it the new normal.  Good luck.

In the Physicians Foundation Survey 13,000- plus doctors, more than half plan on cutting back on patients, switching to cash only or quitting over the next three years- thanks mostly to the president's reform . 60 percent say they'll retire if they can.

J L , my comment was credible and hope the Democrat Party chooses not to shut down the government because funding our Veterans and military is more important than the funding the horrible health care bill.
