Charles,

Thanks for the info. While this is dry gas, the amount is solid. From the article:

In the Utica shale, Seneca tested a dry gas well at its Mount Jewett prospect area in McKean County, Pa. This well had a treatable lateral length of 5,777 ft and was completed using 38 RCS stages. The 24-hr peak production rate was 8.5 MMcfd, and the well averaged 6.8 MMcfd in 7 days.

This would be the best results I have seen for McKean & Potter counties. Hopefully it will cause some leasing in these counties. Good luck to everyone in those areas.

Dave

Have results from other utica wells in McKean been announced?  And I wonder if the dry gas might become wet as they move farther north towards NY.  Being from OH I don't hear much about the area. I don't see how NY can keep the moratorium in place with the record the O&G's have had just across the border in PA (both in safety/environmental terms and production rates) with the Marcellus/Utica.

Dave,

Check out the PA website with this link:

NY is an embarrassment, with every day my doubts grow about the future for oil and gas in the state. There have been no indications of wet gas, based upon all studies/reports. With that said, there may some in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties. Time will tell.
