Is there a map or plot that show who has leased the land around my parcel(unleased)

I am from Harrison county,Ohio. my step sons have inherited  some un leased land.  Is there a map  or plot map that shows the property around theirs that  have been leased and to what company?

use this website to find your neighbors.....and you can  ask them

You can search Harrison county land records on line. http://co.harrison.ms.us/elected/chanceryclerk/landrecords.asp

And then make your own map using Google Earth.

thanks for the info but this is for Harrison County Ms  and I am Harrison County Ohio. which is a small county and they do not have a web site .Thanks again

What township are you in william? The ODNR Map viewer Paul posted is a great tool to use. You can zoom in on the map on your township and it will show landowner names, acreage numbers, section numbers, as well as the companies that hold the leases.

You can click on the identify button at the top of map. A box will pop up on the map and then you click on the circle that is blue. When using the identify button just click on parcels, horizontal wells, or old vertical wells. The ODNR docs and well cards will show up and you can read them. It is a great way to find who your neighbors might be leased with.

Ok, yes I understand the feature you describe and how to get the current well information and make the assumption that the landowner is leased/HBP with that company.  I thought maybe there was a layer that I was missing that indicated specifically what company, if any, has the lease on the parcels even if the parcels do not have a producing well on them.

Yeah I don't believe the map shows that information on unleased parcels. The good part though you can still see the property owners name and then click on the link to go to the county auditors website to see how the land has been bought and sold in the past.

Your best bet would be your local county recorders office or the courthouse. I wish my county would get their records online but so far nothing has been done.

The only well I see in Green township is the Jeffco well that was drilled by Hess. Maybe try calling Hess and see if they want to lease your property.
