Some leases state what a producing well consists of.  Some of the more recent lease state that a producing well is  a well that can at least cover the operating cost of the well.  You should contact the ODNR to see if they have any information.

Paul are you sure that is 55mcf or 55,000mcf?

It says 55MCF....Clinton well.....12.5%.....my cut: $15

That's around 1800/ day. Pa or Ohio? Not that it matters. That's the lowest production I have seen. There are some locally, NEPA that are around 500,000/ day. In our area the lack of pipelines are slowing up some companies. I'm lucky SEPCO has their own midstream companies.

Sorry about that I had the numbers wrong, by a lot, a couple decimal points.

old Clinton wells, 20+ years old...in Ohio

Is it 290,000MCF or just 290 MCF and was it producing the entire year.

Don't get confused with MCF vs MMCF.

Numbers I have on my statement read 247,637MCF for OCT which really translates into 247,637,000 cubic feet per the month or 7.988 million cubic feet /day.

The well came on line May 23 and was producing around 5.7 million/day. It gradually climbed to the 7.988 million/day in Oct and fell to 2.77 million/day for Nov. I'm assuming they turned it down for some reason.  If it fell that much naturally I would doubt they would be drilling well #2 and #3 as I type this.

Our landman told us that we'd see a decrease in production as other wells were drilled on a pad.

Your landman is an idiot.  These wells have not communicated with one another in any published case.  They are each individual and their production is not contingent on surrounding wells.

In what formation is this well producing 4200 MCF a day?

I've noticed that some supposed oil and gas people don't know what one MCF is.

I was confused over that for a while. I think I understand it now.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY FORMATION? MY WELL IS IN SW PA. A GAS WELL. IT JUST WT INTO PRODUCTION IN SEPT. 2013. I SENT CHK A EMAIL ASKING HOW I COULD SEE HOW MUCH IT WAS PRODUCING. THE EMAIL I RECIEVED BACK SAID I WOULD KNOW MORE WHEN I GET CHECK DETAILS FOR TOTAL MONTHLY PRODUCTION VOLUMES. THEN IT SAID IN A SENTENCE BELOW THAT  WELL WAS CURRENTLY PRODUCING 4200mcf GAS PER DAY. I VISITED THE WELL IN FIRST WEEK OF OCT. 2013 AND WAS TOLD BY A FULL TIME WELL TENDER THAT IT WAS PUTTING OFF 8 MILLION. SO IM STILL CONFESSED. GUESS ITS A WAITING GAME...

Being in PA and seeing CHK, it must be a horizontal Marcellus well.
