One pipeline has been put in the row by MarkWest and when I signed my agreement, the length was estimated and it says in the agreement that the distance is subject to change after it is actually surveyed. It seems that this is on all their paperwork, but they never actually survey, even though I have asked them so. One manager I confronted, laughed and said they don't survey. (this goes against what my agreement says). I have even asked how many sections of pipe were used and that was never answered. Just like all the rest of them, as soon as they get your signature then you are tossed aside and forgotten.

richr  totally agree had the penn surveying company conduct the survey took a day and a half to do it (mark west supplied ) thats when footage went to 2100 figured this was the true measurement then they dropped it to 1852 when we talked money long story longer I'm looking for one of them wheel type measuring devices I asked them how do we know that measurement was accurate? It seems there is so much smoke and mirrors used and there is so much plausilble deniability between the land sharks, construction cordinatores ,routers, enviromentalists and finally the  actual mid-stream companies management staff that the only thing you got left is the agreement which with every new draft seems to change just a little it is a slippery slope we are treading on and these people wonder why there is so much mis-trust associated with dealing with these people  IMHO MARK

Was the surveyor licensed and did he produce a sealed and signed survey plat?  Somebody is screwing with you and I don't think it is the surveyor.  He doesn't want to put his professional surveyor's license on the line.  I'm a PLS and I wouldn't do it, unless I want to loose my license and pay fines.

mornin richr
the crew leader that did the survey I asked him for his credentials he said that his company only had 2 certified surveyors they would do the grunt work he would or they rather would review the plat surveyed come back out later approve it and that would lead to the as-built survey of which we would get a copy  and by the way never did see his credentials OH HELL YEAH somebody screwin around no doubt about it they seem to practice the fine art of mis-direction  i.e. smoke and mirrors   mark

As long as they are working under the direction of a PLS it is okay, but the PLS has to make an appearance somewhere on the scene to make it official.  You should be entitled to a plat, maybe combined with your neighbors on a larger scale plat.

The people working for MarkWest didn't even know the correct route of the pipeline through my property. They had a map, but couldn't even figure that out. They change landman very quickly and shuffle them around, at least that's been my experience with them.

It sounds as though you all should have employed a lawyer from the beginning to communicate with Mark West.  That's true with most gas and oil related operations.
