We got a letter from someone wanting to buy our minerals for $5000+ in the Meade District of Tyler. While we are not interested in selling, we have leased several pieces to Antero in that district. The letter stated that their research showed that we are in the Freeland Unit. Has anyone heard about a well or potential well made up of leases and called the Freeland Unit in that district? Probably too much to hope for.....

Hi Jim,
Go here https://apps.dep.wv.gov/oog/permitsearch_new.cfm and choose Tyler then API 095- 02127 and 095-02185. Both of these have Freeland Unit in the well name.
Then go here http://downloads.wvgs.wvnet.edu/BatchInfo/tyler/ and scroll down to find those numbers and see plats etc.

I am still somewhat confused by how the units are set up, drilling vs production, etc. I think some states have better ways of communicating this. If you figure this out, please let me know.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
