Heard the Wefler Well is now producing via a temporary line from a non-Statoil owned line. The full Statoil owned pipeline won't be complete until later this year or early next year. More wells are to be drilled at the well site later this year which will cause the current well to be shut down until 4-6 new wells are drilled. I was told checks should be coming in a couple of months, though they would be greatly diminished due to rental fees.
It has been a struggle for local landowners to get info on the Wefler well site. The local Statoil folks direct landowners to call a number in Texas. Until recently, property owners weren't called back due to staffing issues. I heard even now folks are calling Statoil Texas and being told they have no info on Wefler, wondering whether they called the right operator.
This seemed very strange to me so I called a friend in the oil and gas business in Texas who told me some operators are really on top of things while others, especially newer ones to the region who may still be ramping up their operations, fly by the seat of their pants. He told me some operators don't get updated info until they literally need to send out checks and division orders which can sometimes arrive at the same time. Anyone have any more info on Wefler, and has anyone else got a check and a division order at the same time from other operators?

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
