Hillary on Oil and Gas

I recently watched the movie "Hillary's America" I recommend every American see that. It explains the history of the democratic party and the rise of the Clintons. It talks about their views on the oil and gas industry and the war on coal and fossil fuels. I came away from that movie enlightened and disturbed. If she becomes our next POTUS we are in for trouble on a biblical scale. Our country will cease to exist as we know it. Has any one else on site seen this?

Robert, Methane is a potent green house gas but it is said 30% of methane released to the atmosphere is from natural sources ( cracks in the earth ). A good portion leaks from distribution lines ( thousands in Boston alone ) tighter regulations on distribution lines and well flaring are needed but the 30% we have no control over. You should research sea freighters. They are not included in any countries carbon count or regulation because the operate in International waters. They basically burn the thick leftovers from refineries ( like asphalt ). 12 of these ships are the equivalent polluters equal to every car and light truck in the world. Which is easier to fix 12 ships or every car and truck in the world. As long as profit is the motivator to keep things clean we will never do it right because to much of the money spent goes to special interests instead of the cause. More efficiency and practical easy solutions should be implimented before killing jobs.

Dan- You miss the whole point.  We already know what gases are being produced, even from cows.  By taking the gas out of the ground we are exposing the atmosphere to even higher rates of pollution through leaks and wells that run rogue like the one in Los Angeles.  We also have countless pipeline ruptures and leak problems at wellheads.  Of course the industry says they can control these but given the past performance of the petroleum industry we know that they will not. We need to quit looking at petroleum jobs as the only jobs out there to produce our energy needs.  We need the technology to expand renewable energy even more and we need the workers to do the work.  It is not enough to say we have all this gas so we need not develop renewable energy in a hurry or, as many think, at all.  The world population is growing and pollution is growing with it.  This anthill we live on is finite and we cannot risk losing what we have.

You Robert, are obviously a misinformed die hard liberal. The EPA is a rouge, liberal leaning, nit picking, out of control entity of the federal government with way too much power. Stupid regulations they impose on our energy sector are killing us as a nation and a people. The scientific community is steadily finding new evidence against "global warming" due to carbon emissions from fossil fuels. You would probably be OK with our country being dependent on Arab oil and our hard working coal miners and their families all starving for lack of work due to the regulations put forth by the Obama EPA. I bet you are a Hilliary lover and can't wait to cast your vote for the lying, crooked, corrupt old bit---. You need to research "Socialism" and see if you really agree with that form of government because that is where we are headed with HRC as POTUS. Socialism= government control of our most basic freedoms. The ruination of our country as we know it....

Name some of that new evidence and tell the countries who signed the Paris Accord that we do not need an Accord anymore based on your scientific findings.  I am sure that we are all interested in your findings based on scientific fact.  Waiting with bated breath.  Let's deal with facts not personal attacks.

I'm not gonna waste my time with you Robert as I doubt you would believe anything contrary to your liberal left ideology. But there is evidence that climate change is due to "solar cycles" not fossil fuel emissions. Believe what you will. As for the countries who signed the Paris accord they are all out for American dollars and will agree with anything that will get them such. So 'whatever' Mr. Smith. I will not argue this point any farther with you.... :)   Research/Google "Solar Cycles" Global Warming? Climate Change?

You are on the right track.

In fact the true purpose of the Paris Accord is a gigantic scheme to redistribute wealth.

A fund is to be created to help the 3rd (undeserving) world. Guess which country was suppose to contribute over 50%? You only get one guess.

The Accord is a fraud just as the Kyoto Accord was a fraud. The U.S. never ratified the Kyoto Accord. But, U.S. emissions have dropped below the Accord levels without the U.S. being a part.

The reason is two fold; first - built in to the operational plans for all oil and gas companies and energy producers (electric companies) is a requirement for ever greater efficiency which doesn't allow for waste and fines for excess emissions. Second - is hydraulic fracturing which has allowed for the development of new sources of clean, abundant natural gas.

We The People, of the U.S. have no need for Accords. Our economic system provides the mechanisms to assure that emissions will continue  to drop.

Barry - It is astounding that all the countries who signed the Paris Accord are being defrauded without them knowing about it.  There is no fraud Barry and the U.S. needs this Accord just like every other country needs it.  Unfortunately pollution is not limited to national borders.  What we do in the U.S. affects China and vice versa.  Pollution has no borders, period.  We the people of the U.S. are not the only people on this planet.   You are right about the emissions dropping but a lot of it had to do with the world economy tanking; no production, less pollution.  As for trusting the petroleum industry to keep their act clean we already know that they will not do it.  Well blowouts and pipeline ruptures are rampant along with  ruptured railroad  tank cars.  We already know that what the petroleum industry plans and builds in cannot be trusted at all because. bottom line, it is all about the buck.

'Paris Accord' countries.

Wondering just how many are Communist / Socialist / Authoritarian / Despot run / led whose governments / tyrants are looking for every possible angle to strangle their population's liberty / squeeze every last bit of their country's wealth out of them / it so as to maximize their control and line their own pockets ?

I would wager the majority of them myself.

I, as in independent thinking, citizen of our sovereign U.S.A. am not at all interested in the slightest about compliance with the 'Paris Accord' dictates.

I would wager the governments / government leaders of these countries are more interested in stealing any wealth of their own citizens, and that of our country's (including our country's citizens) than any crusade in opposition to so-called 'global warming' /greenhouse gas pollution.

A severe problem / issue also is that it appears to be the case for many in high places of our very own government (and / or so aspire to be) as well.

Right Barry! 196 countries have been fooled by the scientific community.  Just that many countries signing the agreement is testimony to the fact that the scientific community is correct in their evaluation of the situation. You might find a nut here or there in the scientific community who denies global warming but the overwhelming majority of scientists say we have a problem that will become irreversible unless we take action now.
