Just curious...
I am in Liberty township and a few months ago got an offer to buy my royalties for 1500 to 1800 per acre, but they would do a more in-depth look if I was serious which "mite change the numbers" slightly....even tho I am not drilled or receiving any royalties ..talked to a landsman rite b4 I contacted them and he advised caution as there will be "significant" activity in my area in the "near future"....how about it, anybody else get an offer or hear anything or see any activity here in Tioga Co. ?

What 1968 NYC blackout?
A common question after the 1968 incident was "Where were you when the lights went out?"
Many folks were trapped in subway trains and elevators in the city. Traffic lights went out. Not many folks had auxillary power units back then. If I recall correctly, Electric power was switched from one area to another periodically to avoid larger and more damage to other suppliers.
My wife and I just piled the wood burning furnace and kitchen cookstove full of wood and went to bed early. Other folks were not so fortunate!
Proper Birth control would certainly help solve many of the problems humans are dealing with today!

Bill: I do recall a NYC blackout, but found 1965 when I Googled.
WHERE?
"59-00035A: Empire Pipeline, Inc. (6363 Main Street, Williamsville, NY 14221) has submitted an application (59-00035A) to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for plan approval to construct and operate two (2) 10,727 brake-horsepower (bhp) natural gas-fired turbine/compressor engines (Sources P101 and P102) and a 1,114 bhp natural gas-fired emergency generator (Source P103) at their proposed Jackson Compressor Station located in Jackson Township, Tioga County. ..."

One of the reasons I see for this particular thread being so 'cumbersome' is that some posters do not 'reply' to the latest entry post, instead replying to a particular entry, putting things in an uncronological (is that really a word?) order. Still an informative thread, though, and probably one of the most active here at GMS.
Just sayin LOL
Puerto Rico
That boat has sailed. Google is my friend.
About the only thing of me that does not fail is my memory. ( I still recall the phone number my parents had when I was six years old.) 77 years ago.
ENOUGH SAID about that! LOL!

I could not recall my number today. A State trooper asked me what my number was one time. A vehicle fire had put my car out of commission while I was on the road. Firemen called troopers. Trooper asked for my number. "Cant tell you that!" I replied. "Your joking!" said trooper.
"I have no reason to call my own number. I sit by my phone most of the time. Why would I need to remember it? No one there to answer it anyway unless I was there. And I never answer it anyway......Calls are never for me!"
Trooper stood there for a moment and finally shook his head in disbelief.

My wife and I saw a load of this waterpipe deposited next to Ladd road ready to be hauled up the hill, east, where it adjoins our property. This was about 2:30 this afternoon. I think that the pipe had already been assembled west of route 349. I expect that more pipe will be deposited on our property to be installed the on last leg to Painter, (Eclipse), pad.

"AB" pad. is that the one on the hill just west above route 349? We were just by that pad a few minutes ago. Has been no activity there for many weeks. Also no activity any place we went by. Probably due to rain all night and very poor soil conditions.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
