MARCELLUS SHALE PROTEST SLATED FOR TOMORROW AT SOUTHPOINTE, APRIL 19 @3:30.

Be prepared for a Marcellus Shale protest in Southpointe. Looks like many outsiders & organized labor unions. I have attached the announcement for your review.

Craig,

That fellow is correct - the jobs are definitely out there.  The company I work for is losing close to 50% of the applicants who are offered positions because of the drug test.  We then seem to lose another 25% of the remaining ones in the first few weeks because of the physical work and hours.  I explain the hours and expectations in the interview, but I guess it's different once they actually work it for a few days.  There are good jobs available and even the ones that start at $12 to $15 per hour have great potential for more fairly quick, if the employee sticks it out for a little while.  Those who do make it earn a very good living - much better than any amount I ever saw in my 20s.  If the unions got in, I don't think the industry could afford it.

Speaking of Gasland the movie, I have attached a Penn State article that actually tells you how to test for methane in your water well, which is exactly like you see in the movie. You are right, many times this is naturally occurring. If it does, I've been told it may be because you do not have the right casing for your water well, although It is rare &usually in deeper wells near coal producing areas. This environmentalist probably got the idea to shoot this video of a faucet catching fire from information like this. The Penn State article was printed in 2006.

Paul I am surprised you would have union carpenters on your job, and if a union carpenter is that low to work on a non union job, hes not really a true member, and if he was , why would he be working for peanuts instead of making 50.00 per hour as you said, or were they on the 2 month vacation. I always thought the same thing when I drive by a new home being built, and of course with nonunion labor, most of the time there would be a handful standing around wondering what to do. So I always assume thats why they dont make much money ....you get what you pay for. And as far as a carpenter doing it all, such as electrical, plumbing , etc. We are highly skilled in carpentry our quality work speaks for it self, why take another mans job.....that you  are  not qualified to do. Thats why when you see the UNION MADE you know you are getting the best of both worlds. Most states have codes you have to have a license to perform the work...
