I was past there today and they have the site pretty well prepared and it appeared like they were doing some minor grading along the perimeter of the pad.  I also passed two trucks that were hauling oversize building enclosures that looked like they had something to do with drilling.  They were going in that direction from Oil City.
Trailers on the pad for drilling crews, Drilling rig cann't be far behind.
Thanks for the updates.  I am anxious to see what happens here and hopefully this will drive interest into this area of PA
The rig has arrived on the scene.
Who is the drilling company? Do you know
Union drilling
I hear this is now going to be a Utica well. Anyone else hear that? Any truth to it?
Have heard the same rumors, but the last one was Marcellus only. DEP permit is for Marcellus at a depth of 4247 feet.
I heard that that re-permitted it.  I do not know if they changed their mind at the last minute, and decided to go Utica, of if they did that on purpose. Apply for a Marcellus permit, knowing all along they planned to do a Utica.  That way it still looks like a Marcellus well on the dep permit page.
Where's the Dep. Permit Page? Can you link?

http://www.dep.state.pa.us/dep/deputate/minres/oilgas/oilgas.htm

This tells of all the permits alphabetically by county name.

 Or you can call 717-772-2199.

Good Luck.  From what I read on the website.  Only one well was permitted in Venango.

Perhaps they will drill a Utica well off the same pad at a later date?  I have heard the well will be fracked sometime in June.  Does anyone have any idea if active leasing will begin in the area if this well is good?
