Helping Private Wellowners with Water Quality Problems and Issues Prior to Drilling - Free Education Session

Free Training and Informational Event to Help Area homeowners that have an issue with their household water well may be able to receive some technical and financial assistance through a program being administered by the Pocono Northeast resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) Council.  The Council’s program called the Household Water Well Assistance Program will be available beginning March 1st to provide very low interest loans to low to moderate income families in rural areas to service, repair, or upgrade their household water well system including new well construction, if necessary. 

 

Through the program, the Council will be able to provide low interest loans at a rate 1% for variable lending terms.  Homeowners must reside within rural areas in the following counties (RC&D Service Area):  Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Montour, Northumberland, Pike, Schuylkill, and/or Wayne.

 

Training and Information Meeting have been scheduled for

  • March 8th- Park Street Complex, 648 Park Street, Honesdale, PA  18431 (Wayne County)
  • March 14th- Monroe County Conservation District, 8050 Running Valley Road, Stroudsburg, PA  18360 (Monroe County)
  • March 21st- Lake Township Municipal Building, 488 State Route 29, Harvey's Lake, PA 18618
    (Luzerne County)
  • March 22nd- Columbia County Agricultural Center, 702 Sawmill Road, Bloomsburg, PA  17815

Applications for the program will be available to homeowners beginning March 1st and applications will begin to be scored and evaluated for acceptance into the program beginning April 25th.
