I thought I read on here some time ago how much space was required in Ohio to drill a Class II disposal well but I can't seem to find it now. Anyone out there know how much land is required and the distance required from neighboring land? Thanks in advance.

Kathi,

Here is the Ohio Revised Code link to Law Writer for Injection Wells.

It's about two pages long and should cover everything you need to know about injection wells.

6111.044 Injection well drilling or operating permit.

Thanks Ron but the only thing I see in the document about space requirements relates to the distance from mines. Am I missing something?

This injection well is 133' from a barn and 180' from the property line.

This is an aerial photo of the Kimble #1 D.  It gives you an idea of the size of a small injection well.

It looks like it is the same as oil and gas wells, 100' in a non urban area.

This well is near Cambridge OH:

ODNR will have the answer give them a call and ask they will tell you the whole story including the permitting process that can take upwards of one year to get approval.

Ok. I called ODNR and the answer is that, although there are set back requirements, there is no minimum amount of acreage required for the placement of a Class II Disposal well. Thanks to those who responded.
