I posted this question to the members of USA, but I'd like to know how the GMS membership feels ?
I will send the results to the Governor, President of the Senate, Speaker of the House, and appropriate committees.
Answer this thread yes or no, or send me a PM.

Yes indeed, take the sin taxes and leave us landowners alone.
Good to hear from you my friend.
Permalink Reply by Inchworm antenna on June 6, 2013 at 5:06pm The real poll has to do with what your State legislatures think? Do they or don't they support the proposed severance tax? Call their offices and start putting their answers here for all to see. This is important. if you want to win a a campaign you have to know who you are campaigning against.

Permalink Reply by scott david gill on June 6, 2013 at 5:00pm nothing more than wealth redistribution by the R's (of which I am one) - Hell NO to this tax increase unless everyone gets hit with a bump!
Permalink Reply by HB on June 6, 2013 at 5:18pm NO! An impact fee (paid by the driller) makes sense, but a tax on my minerals just because they are encompassed by an (arbitrarily drawn) political unit (Ohio), makes no sense.

Come on Vote
Permalink Reply by David Mohn on June 7, 2013 at 12:12am I vote NO. Property owners are taxed on everything. The farmers have worked hard their entire life and now they have the chance to get ahead and now everyone has their hands out. Where were those who want a hand out when the farmer got up when it was 20 below zero to take care of his land. Where were those people when it was 90 degrees and the farmer was out taking care of his land. Where were those people with the hands out when the farmer was working 16 hours a day 7 days a week. I can tell you where they were. Sitting on their A$$ looking for someone to support them. Again BIG NO on the redistribution of wealth here in Ohio and the entire United States.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
