The pressure on the Saudi royal family is growing, the oil price crash that they are attributed with causing is taking a continued and more brutal toll.
Petro economies are being crushed everywhere, this cannot continue and it wont.
I believe that there has to be a reformation of an alliance that will restrict production thus raising prices, especially if the American shale oil companies can be counted on to join in.
Everybody is bleeding profusely and it appears to no benefit to anyone. Massive amounts of wealth are being squandered and that is unlikely to continue for more than another year or so.

And as written earlier (above); SA / OPEC fixes the price of a barrel of oil from the supply side by minimizing or maximizing their production / contribution to the world's oil supply (depending on how they want to affect pricing).
Only way to level the field is by prohibitive trade agreements with our (vetted) allies / tariff.
We have law in this country to prohibit unfair trading practices domestically; so, the producers circumnavigate the 'spirit' of these laws by trading on the unregulated (lawless ?) global market, leaving our country's E & P's vulnerable to despots / socialist and communist agendas. That also ought to be illegal. Trading in this market subsidizes despots, socialist and communist agendas doesn't it ? Subsidizing despots, socialist and communist agendas is not in step with our domestic interests / tenets as I've been taught.
How is that (at least) not assisting 'price fixing' on a global scale ?
SA & OPEC don't have to follow the USA's laws do they ?
Unless the thinking is to deplete SA / OPEC reserves by buying cheap and storing while saving our own for later ?

Under your centrally controlled market place for oil and gas how would decide the amount that each company could sell?
No limits on production from any allied country.
Only limit with whom an allied country could trade with and prohibit trade with any non-allied country.
Then how would the price of oil and gas go up? We are producing more than we can consume.
I couldn't guess how it would finally shake out.
But it might happen that certain allied countries would trade certain commodities.
Like for instance if allied with the U.S.A. in a trade agreement Canada might supply Diluted Bitumen to the U.S.A. in exchange for Diluent and earn a share in the sales of the USA's refined fuels (produced from the Canadian Diluted Bitumen). Mexico and Venezuela likewise. That would start looking like an 'America's Trade Agreement' to me.
All guesswork / conjecture / supposition on my end.
How would you spin the increase that the general public would have to pay at the pump?
Can't 'spin' war.
Never tried.
Never would.
Never thought much of anyone or any entity that did / would /could / even tried / tries to.
Plenty enough of that (spin) going on by others (even right here in this conversation).
I think you're 'spinning' the whole World Market / NWO thing myself as do many, many others 'spin' it here and elsewhere.
The World Market and the NWO are lawless and BROKEN as far as I can tell.
Also it's no good proclaiming a 'Trade Agreement' among 'Vetted Allies' illegal by calling it a 'Domestic Cartel' (to correct an earlier sentence of mine in an earlier reply within this conversation).
JMHOs
BTW, wanted to clear up that I never thought Trade Agreements among Allies to be representative of any kind of 'centrally controlled market place' myself as the commerce between any two (2) party allied countries would be negotiable.
Joseph-Ohio..
You never heard of the Sherman Anti Trust Act ???
Im gonna take a guess that you never heard of the illegal UN TREATY
either....
I enjoy reading all your fancy ideas... but I don't see where they are based
on any kind of reality......
But im pretty dumb on these thiings..
good morning mike,
now that you've called me out i think i should respond.
look i'm no lawyer and haven't even studied it (the law) to any great degree.
i know that there are laws against trusts and monopolies - but whether they stem from an act called the sherman anti-trust act or the custer anti-trust act or the patton anti-trust act or the george washington anti-trust act - haven't a clue.
thought 'acts' were congressionally proposed but needed to be executed by the potus to become law however.
i've never had occasion to read the un treaty either. thought it was all about nations most of whom at the time of it's inception were allied getting together to try to develop a vehicle to stem wanton acts of war among nations. you see it as some great burden for us here in the usa. tending to agree with you on that as i think every sovereign nation has the right to defend itself against aggression without having to run to the un for their rulings on things. so......that's who and where i am on matters of law domestic and international.
glad you enjoy reading my ideas but i don't think they're all that 'fancy'. rather i think they make good common sense intuitively. i'm all about intuition and common sense myself - i see a great lack of it out there these days.
btw, to me common sense and my intuition are reality (since they basically are all I have to work with). i've got to do the best i can using only what i have to work with.
and, mike, your ideas to me seem more 'fancy' than mine.
also, i don't think you're dumb mike - i think you're just hasty and opinionated to the point of being rude sometimes.
regards,
j-o

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
