I have been told by a wyo cty landowner group official that Cheapeake has at least 3500 applications to process...Personally, I think this massive response is turning the tide in CHP's favor...I wouldn't be surprised if future leases are less favorable...I'm starting to look at other energy companies that have contacted me in the past...Chk supposedly has an office in Towanda...

okay, Has anyone heard what Chesapeake is doing as far as leases since they signed with the Wyo Co Landowners Group? Has anyone here signed since then? I sent in my parcel info afew weeks ago - have not heard a word as yet. Does anyone have a real contact person I can speak with @ Chesapeake? Thanks for the info

Oh, Paul, I hope for your sake that lease IS REALLY the same one. I had an extended conversation with Chesapeake landmen on Friday night and they told me the non-members were given a different lease. They may not have told YOU that, though.
You can compare them if you are not sure, though. The REAL lease is still available (last I knew) on the group web site. If not, I have a copy.
I guess you were one of the lucky walk-ins that signed. People were told not to go there unless they were in the group, so we didn't.
It is not a pretty situation all around at this point.

rfs, What are you talking about? We went to the signing as new members And signed are 200 acres with chesapeake And we signed the same lease as the Wyoming Group $5750. But we were not members no 1000. sign on bonus All to be paid 60-120 days.

Well, I have come to tell anyone who read my post of Sept. 16th about the Wyoming County Group and their big deal with Chesapeake that it appears to be nothing more than a pound of baloney.

I certainly hope no one has made the assumption that they WILL get the same deal (as was posted on the group web site) because it appears that information was totally incorrect.

You may very well be contacted by Chesapeake if you signed up on their site, but they will not be giving everyone the same deal that was promised. Even landowners in the same area that the group covered.

BEWARE - people are being given inferior leases, less money for the sign-on bonus, and basically broken promises. Unfortunate that the group chose to advertise this and then go back on its' word.

A block can be any piece or all of your land. Some landowners have even combined each others along with their own to form a multiple acre block.I'm not sure if this is recorded on your deed or not. That would be the place to look. Example: A city "block" is comprised of all the homes and businesses in that area. Also a deed book might contain a map of certain blocks in one area within a county.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by a block. Can you be more specific? Do you mean a unit, like a drilling unit?

Can anyone tell us how to findout what a block is? And what block I am in?Thank you Joe. I live in Lovelton.

Yup, saw that one already. Unfortunately Cabot has been the source of several incidents in the area. Their team was part of the "exploding water well" in Dimock PA that gave all the enviro-nuts too much fodder, and now this.
Why is Cabot having safety incidents? I don't know right now. Maybe trying to get too much done too quickly. Maybe too many new workers.
Be aware, however, that we are all watching and we do care. We have to live here.
