Are they coming down to Washington county? Gurnsey is two counties up and one county east. If they are will they post for landowner meetings in the near future? Or should I just call Shell oil?
I talked to my "nephew in law" today (saturday the 22nd) he see no problems other than to get a "Top Lease" claus added, for water wells and such Shallow wells as needed. I will call Wishgard Monday to see if that is allowed.
I really want to find a "good" Landowner group in the Wesley township area, but no luck so far (other than the Cutler Meeting)

Mike,
If Wishgard is in your area now & this is their first pass (if your area holds true to the same trend as Guernsey) then your wave is just getting started. When Wishgard came into town here, they grabbed up a good many acres early before many people became educated. I will say that they do seem to have a good track record of paying what they say they will pay. Almost everyone that I know that signed with them did get paid if they had clear title. However, with being some of the first in the area, those folks got a lot less on their upfront bonus & the royalty percentage. I was almost ready to sign with them in May or June. One of my friends (who I owe a big thank you!) recommended that I wait a while & see what happens. Now, about 5 months later the bonus is around triple what Wishgard was offering when they made the first pass through here. The bonus percentage is about 3-5% higher than they were offering. The geology of your area will play a large part in what you and the other landowners will be able to get in your area. But, just keep in mind that getting educated before you sign Anything is critical. Learn all that you can about this process. This forum is a good source of information (just remember that a lot that is said here is people's personal opinions & views & should be viewed as such unless the source can be verified). The ODNR website is another good site to take a look at. Shortly after Wishgard came through here, there were multiple companies advertising in our newspaper & on the radio. I attended as many meetings as I possibly could, took notes, talked to anybody & everybody about the process that I could possibly get to engage in the process. Everybody has to do what they feel is best for them in their individual situation, but in my experience, patience is key here.
Lol...
Sounds good Paul.
Heard back from Wishgard tody, they said thet a "top Lease" is acceptable. Just to keep folks up on what is going on, with Horizontal leasing in Washington County, and WishGard. (no I have not signed yet, waiting to see if others are going to come into the area)
Also I still expect to go to the meeting in Cutler on Nov. 4th, but I have only heard about it on this site, seems there are no signs or anything in or around Cutler on 555, so if it is not there I will spend the evening ( 5-7 pm ) there ;).
To: DawnR & Others Interested in Forming a Group in Adam Township/Lowell
A landowners’ group is forming in the Lowell area. First meeting to be held at the American Legion in Lowell on Nov 16th at 7 PM. Fliers have been printed about the group and the meeting date. I will be picking them up today to distribute. There will also be a sign posted at the Legion announcing the meeting. The group is being represented by professionals who successfully negotiated the lease mentioned on this forum in Western Washington County.
Please tell other landowners who have available acreage about this meeting.
Thanks,
WLW
First meeting tonight at Lowell American Legion at 7 PM Nov.16th

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
