@Barbara Mahaffey so is your lease w/Chesepeake as well?  We had a hard time trying to get any return calls - finally spoke with someone who we thought had a some info and of course we are still waiting what is yet to come.

I have been waiting as well.  I am starting to think nothing is going to happen.  I ask and get no answers.  I am not local either.  I was raised there.  My lease expires in December 2012

@brinlady - no we are not local either we are in Anne Arundel County, MD.  I am very familiar with all the area between Bruceton and Kingwood.   Have you just been sitting around waiting for the windfall as well?

That's a an encouraging rumor! 

Are you local?  I'm out of town and signed a lease almost three years ago.  If I was up there, I'd ask around at the Albright Quick Stop -- that seems to be rumor central for that area!

 

Wish I had something more concrete to relay, but i haven't heard a thing either.

Does anyone have any news regarding Chesapeake in Preston County?  We signed a lease over 4 years ago and haven't heard a thing.  Rumors are that the Valley Point collection facility has been completed and things should start moving.

Seeking offers for our oil and gas holdings in Kingwood, Grant, and Pleasant Districts located in Preston County, West Virginia.
  Presently there is owned 1,075.90 net acres of all oil and gas formations, including the Marcellus Shale, that we are interested selling.
The property does not have any current production and is under lease until December 2014.

Preston CARES is a community  "group who supports responsible management of Preston County land and resources as a component of economic development and want to equip residents, elected officials, and legislators with accurate information". 

One project the group has undertaken is to provide recycling at the upcoming Buckwheat Festival. There will be more information at their booth during the festival.

Another issue is the proposed Marcellus Shale waste landfill to be located south of Bruceton MIlls at the confluence of the Little and Big Sandy Rivers. It has yet to be determined if this is even classified as solid waste and is not covered by EPA environmental hazardous waste materials protocol.  At the present time the group is looking for interested people, geology and economic resource experts.

Hello Preston County! I have some property I am looking to lease. Does anyone know the players interested in leasing in this area? Is Aurora too far southeast for the Marcellus or are players interested in that area?
