My neighbor (we are both located off a higher point on Rock Run Road (Irish Settlement) was contacted yesterday by Brandon Miller (Chesapeake Landsman). Perhaps they are going to start leaseing more land in the Laporte area.

I have seen that map before. My only question is why are people along Route 220 getting letters about the pipeline. I read one of the letters myself. Maybe the company is shifting the pipeline to the center of the county.

Cut and paste this link, looks like eastern edge of Sullivan Co. http://www.stagecoachstorage.com/ExternalFiles/SitesIP/stagecoach/D...

Has anyone heard where the new pipeline is going in the county? Some friends of mine who live along Route 220 have been getting letters from Stagecoach.

Is there any current activity in the Wheelerville area?

We just signed leases that were for 5750 an acre an 20% royality. There are many more parcelles to go but it looks like thats the going rate now 120 day pay is standard.

Keith,
As I mentioned earlier we felt the tap was being shut off in our area for the near future due to the large number of land leases Chesapeake had recently acquired. In barganing I chose (with our lawyer's recommendation) to try for other concessions. I realize the 120 day period is way out there but I can live with it.

(as a side note - could you correct the spelling of "thngs" in the Sullivan County description?)

James, that a long time to wait for pay day. DId they give you a reason for a 4 month wait...I assume a bank draft.

That's right, wait till the check is cashed.

The good news is 49 acres at $5,000/acre (120 day pay) plus a 20% royality. The bad news is it's not the same agreement as the Wyoming group. I was able to add four changes to the lease (Clean and Green taxes being the most important) but Chesapeak will not offer a full liability clause. If they (or others working for them) are not negligent they are not held responsible. Dale (Greevy & Associates) used the example of a hunter accidentlly shooting the well head. I posted no trespassing signs this afternoon! I am making arrangments with Liberty Mutual for a catastrophe policy if and when drilling takes place.
The landsman said Chesapeak was cutting back around the Laporte area and they may not even drill in the first five year term. I called Chief and they said they were not offering any more leases at this time. I left a voice mail with Dale Norman but he didn't return my call.
I think I'm going to wait until payday in February to wear the Chesapeak hat the landsman gave me!
