Hi, we have figured out the Seismic testing on our property in Nauvoo and who owns the gas mineral lease. It is Anadarko.

We also found out, we as the land owners have a say in the Seismic Testing Areas..

But as the surface (only) owners, you can't prevent Anadarko's contractor from entry onto the property to do seismic testing?
No we can't, but since the Grandmother who owns the mineral rights is all for a gas well, we at least have some say in the testing areas. She on the other hand has not accepted that she is locked into a lease for a lousy $45 pr..acre because she has an extension clause.
They do have a predetermined seismic grid they stick pretty close to. But when they're doing shot holes, they do stay a certain distance from buildings, compensate for merchantable timber, avoid wet areas, etc.

Probably five years from now people will be complaining because they're locked into a lease for another five years at a lousy $1,500 per acre.
So true!!
I guess it could be worse. We could have land in NY and not even have lease offers or drilling and royalties as an option for the last two years. Fortuna/Talisman is trying to extend my dads lease in NY because they claim they have not been able to do any drilling because of the state ban on high volume hydro-fracturing
Fortuna/Talisman has not paid our lease bonus at all..They are 3 wks..late to point and keep making dead end promises..
Robin; does your lease specify how long Fortuna/Talisman has to pay the bonus? And what happens if they don't? The East lease now is voided if they don't pay within 90 days. You could get the lease voided and renegotiate for better terms, unless you are happy with the way it is, in which case you can keep bugging them for your money. What a great Christmas present a nice big bonus check would be!
But a number of people in the Southern Tier had already leased for T/BR wells. And I recall reading that East was signing people at the same $200 they were offering here at the beginning of shale leasing.

I wonder how may landowners (if any) held out for a vertical Pugh in their TB/R lease. They shouldn't be able to force majeure those leases because there is no moratorium on conventional wells.
