Memorandum is short form of lease without the monetary terms and is used to prevent dissemination of bonus and royalty rates. For the fee Landex gives you the filed doc but for what you want to learn you will not get it with a memo of lease.
Permalink Reply by Ann Ticopa on March 30, 2011 at 6:48am I've bought a Memorandum and no, it's not the actual lease. Since the Leases are about the same number of pages, I've assumed they're not either. There is a flat $5 fee per order, plus the amount(s) for the individual document(s).
With the production numbers available, it is possible - with a copy of the unit Declaration - to do a ball park estimate of how much royalty a landowner is getting.

I'm not sure how it works for free.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
