I just spoke with someone who talked to a landowner in Middlebury Township. She said that East and Fortuna are doing a joint venture and are offering her landowner's group $5000/acre (the person I spoke with didn't know the royalty%).

This is an absentee landowner, and I wonder if she misread the offer ($500/acre I'd believe)...has anyone heard anything about this?

My land is in Middlebury township and I have not heard anything to that effect yet. Sure would like to though. Do you know where her land is located in the township or would you be willing to divulge her name or the group that she is asociated with?
I don't know any details...the person who told me didn't ask the right questions because he "didn't want to be nosy". I sent him back to get details, but he won't see her again until next week.

Nobody else has heard anything like this; my contact and the landowner are both in Philadelphia and pretty much disconnected from what's happening inTioga Co. I sure hope it's true, but it seems so unlikely.
Never mind. He talked again to the landowner, and she had just heard rumors that "some people up this way" were getting $5000/acre, so she assumed she would, too. I guess Bradford Co., Tioga Co., etc. all looks alike when you are in Philadelphia :-). Her group hasn't even gotten an offer yet; no doubt it will be the same $1500/15/5 that most people get from East.
Thanks for following that up.
