Just curious...

I am in Liberty township and a few months ago got an offer to buy my royalties for 1500 to 1800 per acre, but they would do a more in-depth look if I was serious which "mite change the numbers" slightly....even tho I am not drilled or receiving any royalties ..talked to a landsman rite b4 I contacted them and he advised caution as there will be "significant" activity in my area in the "near future"....how about it, anybody else get an offer or hear anything or see any activity here in Tioga Co. ?

This used to be an informative website till folks like Ann inserted her political view into nearly every post .........

Maybe publisher should create a energy politics thread and remove some of the trash that is beginning to overwhelm this site ..............

Ralph, I'm calling you.  Here is Keith's page for making complaints, etc.

"Anadarko Petroleum: 'All the answers' about Firestone explosion may never be known"
Denver Business Journal - 4/10/2018

"At the center of the explosion lay an old oil and gas well drilled in 1993, when it was surrounded by farm fields. Over time, development grew around it — with a new home built in 2015 just 178 feet away from the old well, just beyond the minimum 170-foot buffer zone set by Firestone for new homes encroaching on old wells.

Local fire investigators say raw natural gas leaked from the well, via a small pipeline thought to have been plugged and abandoned, to where the line had been cut about 6 feet from the foundation of the home. Gas leaked through the ground and into the home via drains. ..."

What caught my attention about this article was a contributing factor - inadequate records of well and pipeline locations. Imo PA has made a major error in not requiring and making public pipeline mapping records.

"Construction kicks up on big WV pipeline projects"
MetroNews - 4/10/2018

"Mountain Valley Pipeline will extend 42-inch diameter natural gas pipeline over 303 miles to transport West Virginia natural gas into southern Virginia. The pipeline developer says the $3.5 billion project is on pace for completion this year after felling trees in areas considered to be sensitive habitats for bats and migratory birds.

Atlantic Coast Pipeline would run 600 miles from West Virginia through Virginia and into southeastern North Carolina, delivering up to 1.5 billion cubic feet of Marcellus shale gas. That $5.1 billion project is on track for completion in 2019, developers say. ..."

"PA Court Questions the Rule of Capture and Unconventional Shale Gas Development"
Penn State Extension - 4/10/2018

"On April 2nd, the Pennsylvania Superior Court stated it is possible that hydraulic fracturing resulting in natural gas extraction from adjoining land may constitute a claim for trespass. ..." [Briggs v. Southwestern Energy Production Company]

OT, I am being curious here.....why do you say this will have an effect only on Utica wells?

The article specifically mentions Marcellus, and the suit began in Susquehanna Co. in 2015. I am not aware of Utica target wells in that county at that time.

This could have implications for all of us....please share what you know! Thanks!!

Can anyone out there give me contact information for gas attorneys?  I seem to remember a name "Greg Gas?"  Also, my father said an attorney was advertising on the TV.  I don't live in PA. so I am not getting that advertisement.  Could someone relay that to me?
