Where are they now?

We signed our lease a year ago (Canton Twp) and the landman told us that it would be "a couple of years" before Chesapeake was drilling in our area.  There are wells popping up all around us, but I presume these are Range Resources wells.  Is there anyway to map where wells are being drilled and by whom?  Anyone know where Chesapeake is their progress through the county? 

 

When the other wells started appearing near us and I called the landman, he told me that those wells wouldn't affect the amount of gas that could be pulled from our well.  That doesn't make sense to me.  I know the gas isn't like a pool of water, but if they're fracking near me, aren't they taking gas out from under me as well which equals less royalty when they finally do drill in my "halo"?

Well in fairness, their job is to lease property, not maintain relationships with the land owners, Land Brokers are the middle man for leasing for the energy companies.

With that said I agree that they really need to go the extra mile with communication and keeping people in the loop with their projects.

As far as "thinking the environmentalists are right?" well, the fact that you would think that based on a Land company not following through with information is like thinking Beef is contaminated because the gal at burger king screwed up your order... :-)



As far as water supplies, cmon folks, guess how many gas wells are and have been drilled in PA? Guess how long wells have been drilled in PA? Now if water was contaminated by the wells being drilled we would have NO water... I am not saying freak accidents and contamination doesn't happen .. But understand this, more contamination happens from the salt coated roads washing off in the winter times and I sure don't hear anyone freaking out over that..

Im sorry, I said Dale properties moved out of the area. Chesapeake is still here and has a huge holding in Western PA. Your correct a no surface agreement will mean they have to go under you.
