and Columbia Gas has a major line just West of Eichelberger that I believe has a compressor station in Savanah that I understand can recieve natural gas.  I had heard landowners had been approached about running a pipeline North to one or both of these pipelines, back when Devone was drilling.  So we have some infrastructure here already, with ROW's and easments as a starting point to add more pipeline,  but I believe this has been discussed here before.

The Ashland County Landowners Association (ACLA) meeting tonight consisted of about 25 landowners.  ACLA was organized when the other pipeline in the area came thru, INdependnce, I believe was the name.  Sounds like the landowners had quite a battle with Independence back then.

Sunoco recently purchased a pipline and wants to add another pipeline.   It appears New contracts will need to be signed as they expand the ROW.  So ACLA is getting the band back together.  The organizers are all over 50 and some may be in there late 60's, early 70's men who seem to know what hard work is.  They mentioned health problems among them and the need to get some younger landonwers involved.  Being a landwowners group, they want to organize the landowners and try to negotiate as a group.

The problems they face are that Sunoco won't tell ACLA specifically where the line will go and what it will be used for.  ACLA is concerned about safety and being paid fair compensation for this "forever" agreement.

For those who are not familiar with it.  and If the link works, here is the ODNR pipeline map of Ohio.

We have a Columbia Gas Pipeline ROW next to our farm.   I believe it is a 20" and a 30" line.  It has been there for decades.  If the Sunoco right of way you speak of is existing I doubt that any buildings or improvements were made over the line.  That is not allowed and in our area, they cut the ROW's thru the woods and keep them clear, Columbis Gas does not even allow trees to grow in the right of way.  Not an issue for me, just providing info.

I may try to make it to the meeting tonight but no guarantees.

"Disappointing" as in "we expected 1000 barrels a day and only got 100"?

Joe, I've value your input, I think the word DVN used was "disappointing" which in itself could be misleading. DVN's spokesperson did say that there was ngls and ng present. This same person also mentioned that they were after oil and that was why they pulled out. I also read where DVN stated that until the price of oil climbed higher and that they had to tweak their fracking fluid, that they would be back. I, myself, am waiting to see if they surrender their leases back to the landowners. Since I warned a lot of my neighbors about the bad leases they signed (Amish, including the Bishops), they will probably won't ever sign again. Let's face it, the O&G companies are not above propaganda. Some carefully chosen words and they can keep the lawsuits at bay. Hell, they're like politicians when it comes to the truth.
