I can't find the land disturbance permit anywhere either. Never heard of it before but maybe it has some other name??

I suggest that you keep an eye on Crawford, Mercer, and Venango Counties. Halcon has 4 permits in Venango, 3 issued and one pending. I know for a fact that they have disturbed the ground on 2 permitted wells and I believe on the third. I have reason to believe the rig will arrive one one well site within a week. Two of permits are in French Creek Twp., one in Sandy Creek Twp. and the one that has a permit pending is in Clinton Twp. north of Kennerdell. I think cruising Venango, Mercer, and Crawford County sites may give a better picture of what is going on. Paradoxically, Halcon walked away from about 29,000 acres of "leased" properties in Venango County. Yet it appears that they intend to drill 4 wells in the near future. The three that are currently permitted are rather close together, and probably 2-3 miles south of my property which is also in French Creek Twp. Perhaps we can somehow figure out the Venango/Crawford/Mercer County jigsaw puzzle if we pay attention to well permits and drilling operations in all three counties.

township supervisor told me this morning. a relative works in the field, told me two weeks ago shell was heading here. also told me halcon has 5 rigs headed this way after first of year. all very exciting isn;t it. i won't have to drive a hundred miles to put pipe in.

The Byler Property is on the east side of the road just before the Mercer Co. line

Samuel try land disturbance that is the first step before a drilling permit. And I do Know for a fact that the disturbance permit was applied for but don't think it has been issued yet

Berk I was told it is on the DEP website for a Land disturbance permit. Has been for a couple weeks

This is puzzling. I searched  e-facts for Crawford County for drilling permits in Crawford County issued from 1/01/2010 to 10/12/12. There were 61 permits, the vast majority issued to Kastle whose offices are apparently in Edinboro. Range had one permit. Saw none for Shell either issued or pending.???
