Pretty sure that his comment that they're going to stop drilling where their current sh**ty wells are, indicates Mercer & Crawford are toast. Not real hopeful on Venango after his less than stellar remarks about the infrastructure CAPEX, or lack thereof. Looks like we're a LONG way off...
Well, even though we kept hearing rumors that Halcon was packing up and leaving Venango & Mercer, I still didn't want to believe it even though I'd seen the evidence first hand. It's pretty clear now that that is the case. From the 3rd Quarter Earnings and Operational Update - " In the near-term, the Company anticipates it will limit drilling in this play to the Southwest portion of its acreage in Trumbull and Mahoning Counties, Ohio."
Hmmm. Well I suppose, but one would think they'd have gathered all of the information, etc. that they needed from the Allam well to know how to best attack a new well only 2 miles away(as the crow flies). Thanks for the reply Jim.
My guess is that they will take a lot of bore samples and down-hole tests and then amend the permit for a horizontal once they know the best depths to proceed. The samples will also be used to determine the best frac mixture/techniques to use and avoid all the problems they had with the Allam well. They need to do this one faster, cheaper, and better and they should get even better results.
Got a letter in the mail from Dieffenbauch & Hritz(an engineering firm in Morgantown, WV)saying Halcon is applying for a new permit to drill a vertical well on Rainbow pad and that water testing will be done again within 3000 feet of well. Anyone care to speculate about why they are now planning to drill a vertical well instead of a horizontal? TVD is supposed to be 8116' and into the Point Pleasant according to the permit. The permit has not hit eFACTS as of today.
Any word on the new pipeline referenced at the top of the discussions here? Is it still a go or on hold? Have they done any work on it or is it online? Who is the company, what size line?
Anyone else attending the Supply Chain Basics seminar tomorrow at Crosscreek Resort in Titusville?
Since Sam seems to be asleep at the switch, I will step in for him momentarily.
This site is Deader than a Dead Cat!
Somewhat understandable given that HK has ceased pipeline work and now is finishing up paving the roads that they had bonded. It looks more and more like they're leaving for greener, or oilier pastures...
I have approximately 180 acres of Oil and Gas interests for sale in Venango County. Properties are split into 7 parcels ranging in size from 4 acres to 100. Located in various townships. Price is lower than you might think. I can sell as a package or individually. PM me for additional information. This discussion is not being started as a pro/con to selling.
Big progress.....they put up a stake with an information tube attached.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
