....not sure which well......heard rumors of an Ohio well putting out 2000+ barrels oil a day.

What these semi's are hauling are 2000+ bbls of Water a day. It will be a while before Oil starts to flow back. They just push a couple million gallons of water down that hole!

 

Chk is contacting local Injection well owners buying space to dispose of all this water they are flowing back.

Nate, it makes sense that the water is going to push out first ahead of the gas and oil.  My question is, how long after the frac is it before oil and gas start coming up with the water in amounts large enough that make it worth it to start separation and collection?  Days?  Weeks?

Dan,

 

Gas, condensate, oil and water all are produced and flow up together, then are separated at the surface. The gas is sent to a pipeline and sales. The oil or condensate is stored in one of the wellhead tanks while the water is stored in the other tank. They start the process of separation as soon as flowback starts.

That makes sense, and would it be true then that the initial production numbers are the measurements of how much oil, gas, and brine (fracwater) are coming out during some initial period? How long is that initial period? 24 hours?

 

There is lots more brine than oil/gas to haul away at first though right, and then the brine flow tapers off to some minimal level after a while?  How does that work and what is the typical timeframe for that?

Just wondering where you got your info on the 2000 barrels of oil a day.  Could you shed a little light on this for us ?  There is a pretty good segment on the Mad Money show on CNBC with Jim Cramer and the CEO from CHK. It was on a few days ago and there was some talk about 3 of the worlds best oil discoveries in the past few years. I believe one of these is the Utica here in Eastern Ohio.

I heard it from some of the local folks here in Ohio that are involved with excavating....may have worked on putting in the pipeline to the well fro gas.

I checked Cramer's arcives od theshow with the CEO of CHK and there was no mention of oil in eastern Ohio or the utica.  It could be true but CHK has not released any information confirming what we all want to hear.

I agree with you Scott, like we've been saying all along OIL, OIL, OIL!!!  You think CHK invested 1.5 billion and yes people have and are receiving their checks. (unlike people in Michigan)  The landmen are scrambling right now trying to tie up as much rights as possible, before we get solid evidence of what is really under our feet.  Hang in there everyone you waited this long...

Hang in there folks, you ain't seen nothing yet. In due time, what you learn will blow your mind. Just remember to not treat all that cash like the lottery, put some back, pay off your mortgages, get debt free, make that "Black Gold" work for you, not against you.
