Your post is still there, Bill. No one has answered it; I guess no one else has heard anything about a meeting between Dominion and the gas companies. I'm not tapped into any sources, so I never hear anything!

If it is still here Lynn it must be in invisible print! I've look in many places on this site and I have yet to locate it. I did see it a couple of days ago and I did notice that no one had many replies. I usually check back the next day to see if anyone responded. But this is the first time a new posting  or topic of mine disappeared. Maybe it will turn up yet so I can take a look!

Thank you Lynn. I have no idea how I came to miss it. I see it now due to your help.

 

As I understand it, the meeting was supposed to be a very important discussion concerning the storage areas.

 

These things seem to go very slow and are often secretive too. Then all of a sudden something breaks and everyone is innundated with information and decisions have to be made on the spot.

Secretive is the word for these gas companies! I don't understand why everything has to be so mysterious. Yeah, they have trade secrets, but they won't/can't even tell me basic things like when the 3-D survey is supposed to be done in my area. They came around 2 months ago to get permission and said it would be 'real soon'. Now they won't even give an estimate of when it will be done. If they really don't know, that doesn't inspire confidence in their organizational methods!

Only the very top echelon members have much of an idea what is going on. All the underlings are kept separated from each other as much as possible or sign pledges that they will never speak to another human being of some fact they know about almost upon penaty of death..... Well maybe not quite  death but close to it.

 

Probably at times there is other downright false information put out to mislead the landowners too.

I wonder how much of it is sheer chaos and incompetence? I just spent 2 months trying to get leased. Shell is one of those companies where the simplest messages get mangled or not sent, nobody knows what anyone else is doing, and the landowner is caught in the middle. Just last week someone from Shell's leasing department called to start my leasing process from scratch again...he didn't know that I'd been working with a landman for the last month; he had no idea that what I wanted had been negotiated and turned in to Shell; we were waiting for HIM to approve my lease. It's hard to believe that these people handle thousands of leases.

You'd think Lynn, that with computers and the ease that information can be exchanged it would be a simple job to ferret out the needed information.

Much of the chaos could be avoided of if there was not so much secrecy. With the secrecy there is bound to be a great amount of rumor exchanged and false information that is taken to be the truth among the entire chain of command.

And we have not even considered the greed aspect of the matter, which is probably fueling the entire energy industry in the first place.

It so happens that a man who was hired to straighten out a problem with leasing in our area was fired because he made a comment to a fellow worker, The comment was, "You do not have to work so hard and put so much of your time trying to fix this particular leasing glitch. The company will never know!"  Well Lynn, the fellow worker just happened to be the son of one of the "higher ups"  Needless to say the first man was called "FRONT AND CENTER RIGHT NOW!"  He lost a great paying job in an instant for making that statement.

 

So it appears to be almost a life and death struggle for control of energy resources. And I guess we are all a part of it, like it or not!
