Permalink Reply by oil guy on August 1, 2012 at 12:05am I dont belive we will know this answer untill years to come. To my understanding the oil is more the western window around where Devon energy is drilling the gas is the eastern window so we might have two winning countys in this catagory.
Permalink Reply by country driver on August 1, 2012 at 10:58am The new cracker plant is being built on the edge of Columbiana and Carroll County, so I'm thinking its got to be within a 30 mile area around that Plant.

That may be true for wet gas, but for oil it will be elsewhere. Such as Fang said Central/Western Trumbull & Ashtabula will do better for oil. They have thicker Utica and the correct maturity. Peruse the Ohio DNR website and you will see maps detailing this. As oil guy stated, it is still early and the maps will change as new wells are drilled.
If I am not mistaken, Mahoning county is the only county that completely sits on top of the wet gas zone, and.......it commanded the highest bonus and roayalties until most acreage were leased.
Harrison County is the epi-center, all roads lead here[all pipelines that is]
We will be back on top, by 2018...more per capita redneck millionares.
Just like the old times when coal was king.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
