ALOV and Northern Trumbull County- Updated Discussion to include BP Lessor's and Bonus money Payment's

Hello all!

I have been doing a little research and speaking with friends and neighbors about forming a group to address the needs of those of us not yet represented by a landowners group.

This led me to call ALOV after hearing that they had accepted some acreage in Trumbull county.

I paid little attention to ALOV earlier as their website did not list Trumbull county as an area of interest, although the work they were doing was certainly of great interest to me.

From what i gather there was a cut-off of June 30 for sign-up with ALOV, they extended that and also had a meeting at RD banks Chevy in Champion. This may not be news to some of you, but i had not come across the posting until after. The word i got from an individual at ALOV was that Chesapeake set a northern geographical cut-off in Trumbull county of St.Rt.88, again this may not be a newsworthy flash to some. Many landowners attended, more than expected according again to a source at ALOV, and signed up their acreage.

Now heres the news, ALOV has agreed to start a "Waiting List" of still more interested parties from areas north of St.Rt.88. If you call them with name, address and phone number they will put you on the list, and depending on level of interest, they may choose to represent us as a group in a similiar fashion, with the same or even better terms to Chesapeake, or another interested party.

So call up ALOV, their number is listed on their site www.alov.us , and ask to be included in their next go around. From where i stand why re-invent the wheel, they already have done the groundwork and have the attention of the industry on favorable terms, lets ask them to either start another "Pool" to include us, or come work with us to the same end.

If you have information to share, please join in the discussion, Thanks

Hello again to all my fellow Utica Shale Owners. I Just stopped in to ask if there were any who signed with BP from the ALOV Northern Trumbull county group, that resulted from these efforts, still around.

Has anyone had any conversations/correspondence from BP concerning title defects, or other issues that would delay payment or affect your lease, or gotten a check for Bonus money?

Someone tells me you MAY get $5,000 or your will get $3,900 I am going to take the $3,900.

Fang, I wish you would not present info like this with such an egotistical tone. If you get $5,000 per acre congratulations. It does not make me stupid but conservative in my hopes.....

A bird in the hand comes to mind. Knowing now how long this has taken and the deadline for payment still a month away, could you imagine starting the process over now?

I have a few neighbors who are holdouts and I will be happy for them if they get $5000 plus an acre! I wish was in the financial situation that I could wait it out too.  I am not- I am still recovering from divorce and living paycheck to paycheck. Fang, your post implies that I am not a "smart land owner". Well I was smart enough to get the quick claim deed on my property so the 3900 (even with net royalty- yes I knew it at the reveal) is welcome indeed! I hope my neighbors get a great deal and tons of cash!

Hello to all,

I am willing to do something most Lessor's will not. I am going to reveal in the first person, i did get my visit from the Ice Cream Man on the afternoon of the 21st. The Ice Cream had a born on date of 8/20/12. That should put to rest the rumor that ice cream is only being made at the first of every month. They prob. make a batch every Mon. from the previous week's cream.

Most landowners avoid this disclosure for privacy concerns, some for fear of crime.

I am neither a fool nor afraid. If some are so bold or desperate to attempt a break in, they can take their chances. I am home most of the time, except for when i am not, they can try to guess which one applies when they make their play, and they may pray that God has their soul, cuz at that time their asses will belong to me.

I pray that you all will soon get your visit from the ice cream man, and enjoy it in good health.

Jim Thanks for the info, I have not asked, but have always wondered, where the check was written. I wondered if it was done in Warren at that office of somewhere else. I can't imagine anyone worried about breakin as if we are in the old west and not using banks. I love the fact that my "Ice cream truck" analogy has caught on.  Thanks for the feedback. Can you say how many acres?

JT, I live in the Northern part of the county and it is in many way's like the Wild West.

Break in's happen everyday all over this once great country, and although i don't have my money in Mason jars buried in the back yard, i do have material possesion's. Some would assume that upon receiving a sum of money, a person would purchase more goods or have more cash on hand.

I am merely alerting those who are not friends, by my statment, that although i will disclose this very private information of our good fortune to the world, i am prepared to defend.

If you are one who is of the mindset that nothing bad will ever happen to you or yours, i hope it never will, but will you defend if called upon? Do you have the skills and mindset or do you expect our "peace officer's" to be there when you are in need? Are you pro-active in the defense of yourself, your loved ones or your property?

I am, i was once a soldier, i was born a warrior into a family of warrior's turned farmers, and now i am a farmer. I pray for peace every day and am prepared for the defense of my family if there is a need.

as to your other question, i do not believe the check was from Warren. I did enjoy the ice cream man analogy, and everytime i think of it the Van Halen tune goes through my mind.

To all my friends out there, i hope your good fortune is soon to come. Stop by when you can and a cold beer or glass of ice tea, and good conversation awaits.

Thanks Jim, I am close to you also. Thanks for the info and good luck. The mindset of some is as you say, suddenly you have more "stuff to get" is true. Neighbors to the south of me got hit a couple weeks ago.

Thanks again.

Well the "ice cream" truck came here too...but it was "eye scream" and my kids got strawberry shortcake! :( By the way my car was stolen out of my open garage in Mecca last summer when I went next door. And I noticed today a guy on Bazetta Rd put signs out directed at the person who stole his tractor...he's a disabled veteran too.  Anyway thanks James for your info. Congrats and enjoy!

Middleton, Ill ask my neighbors down there if they heard anything. I have my property down in Mecca too that I plan on moving to this fall and we cant have that going on. Good for honest people to stick together.

I live north of Mecca, in Greene twp. and I wouldn't hesitate to defend my property.  I don't worry much because I am home most days since my job is horse training and farming.  And since I also have 5 dogs that do their jobs very well a person would have to be a little crazy to even want to step foot on my place.  I hate theives, they are the worst kind of humanity and I have worked way too hard in my life to give things up like that.

Well I did get my car back! I found it MYSELF by driving around Warren. It was in ok condition just with an empty gas tank, and paraphernalia inside. Apparently it was used for a few drug runs. Anyway Welcome Tom in advance to Mecca...hopefully about to repeat the oil boom!

Is anyone aware of a landowner / lessor receiving a Title Defect Notice from BP?  I am curious if those are also being issued as the title work is completed or if such Notices will all be tendered on or near the Expiration Date (October 1, 2012) of the Due Diligence period?
