I received a letter in the mail today about the Rover Pipeline Project which will run from this area to Ontario, Canada. Is anyone familiar with this?

Permalink Reply by Zack Jameson on July 4, 2014 at 3:41am I'm in Marshall County, WV. I got the letter in the mail, but I doubt it will be near my area. I'm right near Majorsville.
Permalink Reply by searcherone on July 4, 2014 at 9:48am Zack, from the map it appears that a lateral of the Rover pipeline is proposed to begin at the Green Co. PA line, cross Marshall Co., WV and on into Belmont Co. OH. Something I read leads me to think part of the plan is to take product from processing plants to bigger markets.
Permalink Reply by Zack Jameson on July 4, 2014 at 12:46pm I thought I read where it said the Rover pipeline may be following existing pipelines. If that's the case, I may be on their route. Time will tell. From what I've heard in the past, the terrain is a big problem with these pipelines. I hope I'm in their plans. Also, with my property being in close proximity to the Majorsville MarkWest plants, it may look promising.
Permalink Reply by Olive Sue on July 5, 2014 at 2:58pm We too received a letter from Rover. I suspect it may have been a general mailing. Green township, Monroe Co. , Ohio.
Permalink Reply by searcherone on July 5, 2014 at 3:43pm Olive Sue, check the map as it shows lateral in Monroe County headed for the Ohio River and I can't tell if it reaches the River in Lee or Jackson Township. Personally I don't think it was a general mailing. There is an informational meeting in Woodsfield July 9, 2014.
Permalink Reply by Zack Jameson on July 6, 2014 at 1:14am Is the Rover pipeline just a single line?
Permalink Reply by searcherone on July 6, 2014 at 4:25am Appears to be one line, but the diameters of the pipe are listed at 24 inches, 32 inches, and 42 inches. These are not baby gathering lines. The info is in the discussion I linked above as well as links to maps etc.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
