I live in Weirton, WV, the part that is in Brooke County. Over the last 2 months, I've gotten letters from 2 different companies offering to BUY my mineral rights for "up to" $12, 000 an acre. I've never had an offer to even lease my mineral rights yet, and these letters make me wonder if there is some proposed drilling in the future going to be happening here? Why else would these companies be making an offer to buy if they weren't sure they were going to get some return on their investment? I haven't contacted either company to discuss sale. I was wondering if anyone knows what's going on in this area. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I'm not interested in selling but may be interested in leasing. What's the going rate per acre?

I've gotten letters from JRS Land Co. in Washington PA and Shale Capital Group from Pittsburgh

I live in the Cross Creek District. About 13 1/2 acres. What's your offer?
Hi Elizabeth,
Did you ever contact one of the companies to get an actual offer?
Just curious.
Thanks,
Todd
Yes, Todd, one guy offered me $2600 an acre and acted like he was giving me a winning lottery ticket! LOL I was also offered $6500 an acre from another company. I'm just not really comfortable selling the mineral rights at this point. I would rather lease, but at this point, I don't think I'm ever going to get an offer for that, since it hasn't happened by now.

Elizabeth,

We would be interested in discussing your acreage for lease.  I sent you a friend request.  Thanks.
