I heard that Utica wells are possibly going to be drilled in the near future in my area. I'm already in a Marcellus unit and receiving royalties. They say the Utica has much more gas then Marcellus. They won't be able to use the same well pad (I've been told) and a new well pad/drilling site will have to be constructed. All in all, this is good news. These things take time, but hopefully in a few years it will come to fruition. By the way, I'm located in Marshall County, WV

B. More gas = less value. Supply and demand
C. More pads, roads, pipelines etc.
D. You're at the mercy of an oil and gas company combined with the govt. Good luck
Permalink Reply by Kyle Nuttall on June 12, 2015 at 4:11am We definitely need more utilization of the gas we are producing. More power plants, more pipelines, and more vehicles converted over to CNG. Push your local governments to convert school buses and fleet vehicles.
Permalink Reply by Kyle Nuttall on June 12, 2015 at 4:09am I had heard that one of the reasons your area was so interesting to oil and gas companies was that they would be able to use the same pad/location to drill to the Marcellus, the Utica, and maybe the Upper Devonian or the Trenton-Black River. I'm surprised they're making a new pad. Cuts down on their profit.

Permalink Reply by Zack Jameson on June 12, 2015 at 11:08am I asked the Noble rep. if the same pads would be used and he mentioned something about "regulations" where they have to be a certain distance away (the new pad). I'm just relaying what I heard....I don't know if that's the case or not.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
