Just curious...
I am in Liberty township and a few months ago got an offer to buy my royalties for 1500 to 1800 per acre, but they would do a more in-depth look if I was serious which "mite change the numbers" slightly....even tho I am not drilled or receiving any royalties ..talked to a landsman rite b4 I contacted them and he advised caution as there will be "significant" activity in my area in the "near future"....how about it, anybody else get an offer or hear anything or see any activity here in Tioga Co. ?

why would YOU have to think twice"
I'm not fond of being wrong, so I often Google before I post.
Unfortunately Old Timer, Some folks always tend to let their mouths overload their rear end! And just say something they don't really mean. And other folks think that they are being singled out for critizism. For instance, A parent might tell an offspring that he/she is stupid. That kid might be overly sensitive and really believe what that parent has said and just give up trying to learn or understand something. And never acquire the potential they are capable of!
SOME KIDS WILL COMMIT SUICIDE or other TERRIBLE DEEDS because they believed what they were told by someone!

It was quite by chance I saw that star or "X" Ann. In fact I am blind in my right eye from about the age of four years old due to accident. I think we all go off track at times with our postings.
But this site is an honest attempt to help clear up misunderstandings about the gas well industry...especially pertaining to our area. For the most part, any information that comes my way has been true to facts.
The gas and oil industry is tightly geared to politics and world supply. And it can change almost hourly! Sometimes we can misread a posting or even misunderstand what is posted. I often do that myself. And I go back to reread a posting and even get a better understanding of what is being said.

thanks, Granddad. I found the "x" or "star" only on my own posts?
Thanks Deb! only trying to clear up a bit of misunderstanding for myself and others about how these sites work.
We need as much information as possible in order to make good choices for ourselves.

Oh, oh. Looks like, this morning, someone else took their toys and went home.
Well my toys are still here Ann. I have been looking at every posting starting from page one. Interesting to see just how the industry in Tioga county has been growing.

"Southwestern Energy asks Pa. high court to restore the 'rule of capture' for shale drilling"
7/11/2018
"A Marcellus Shale company is asking the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to take up a case it says could disrupt a century of oil and gas law by defining fracking that drains shale gas from a neighboring property as a form of trespassing. ...
Two judges on the Superior Court ruled in April that a legal principle known as the “rule of capture” does not apply to oil and gas that is recovered using hydraulic fracturing — the high-pressure injection of fluids underground to free gas from surrounding rocks. ..."

In an area that has been broken up into very small parcels, the rule of capture would do away with much paperwork I would think. However these small landowners do pay taxes and certainly would feel as if income was being legally stolen from them if rule of capture was reinstated. Pooling according to acreage owned by each of the small owners in the drilling unit, seems to me to be the best way to distribute the "Spoils" so to speak.
At first it did seem to take away much of the value an owner placed on his property. But after thinking about it I realized that his acreage could become an "orphan" in a sense.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
