Just curious...

I am in Liberty township and a few months ago got an offer to buy my royalties for 1500 to 1800 per acre, but they would do a more in-depth look if I was serious which "mite change the numbers" slightly....even tho I am not drilled or receiving any royalties ..talked to a landsman rite b4 I contacted them and he advised caution as there will be "significant" activity in my area in the "near future"....how about it, anybody else get an offer or hear anything or see any activity here in Tioga Co. ?

Seems to me as if they all are making a lot of extra work for themselves.   Development plans, Changes in circumstances......Political, Financial, Weather, Acquiring materials needed on time.

Not to mention catrastrophic accidents like pipelines blowing up because of over pressurizing pipe lines.

Thank you for this map Josie. Granddad Ladd

You don't seem to have much faith in Eclipse.  Mind telling why?

Granddad Ladd

Do you foresee problems with royalty payments then?

Granddad Ladd

A prime example is KKR's investment in East Resources which enabled East to reel in Shell.

All expected Royalty payments, according to an Eclipse person were sent out much earlier in October. He did not know why we did not receive ours.  As a precaution we asked that the check in question have a stop payment put on it in case of a stolen check.

It was agreed, stop payment on that lost check would be made and a new check would be issued and included in the next pay period.

This next payment   was sent out or rather, "CUT" about the 24, or 25 of October.  As yet nothing has shown up in our mail box.  One other person that we talked with had not received one of their expected royalty checks either.

Was this simply a lost piece of mail?  We don't know!  Other expected checks did show up but they were several days late.

One other thing:

It would be nice if statements included with checks  be printed in Larger type.  (Example  This is too small for many people to read!)

Granddad Ladd

William,

You might consider speaking with your producer about EFT payments directly to your checking or savings account. It has never been late, unless the date of the payment in any given month falls on a Saturday or Sunday, then the payment will be there on Monday after its' due date.

It has worked for many of us, without a hitch. Also, you should be able to download a check statement immediately....in your preferred font size!

Something to consider....no more 'lost checks'.

Josie, another possibility is that someone had sticky fingers at our mailbox. The reason I say this is we have found our mailbox door open several times. And a few items on the ground. I would not accuse anyone but why was it open?  And a few times there were some pieces of just junk mail laying inside.

There is also the possibility of clerical error or even electronic glitches in direct deposit service.

A few years back my medicare account was charged with several  items.  It took several weeks of intense back and forth arguing with their accountant that they were wrong.

Turns out payment was made out to a doctor for several treatments for a William C. Ladd  in Sunbury Pa. It amounted to several hundred dollars.  I explained that I had not ever been to Sunbury to any doctor and it had been 40 or more years since I had even been near that city.

After many weeks it was determined that when payment was made, it indeed had been written against the wrong account. The first Ladd that came up on their computer just happened to be me. Further investigation showed that the middle initial was  a "C" and not an "A".  Birth dates and other  numbers were very similar.  Once they were satisfied it was their error, it was time to go back to collect the errant payment from the correct account .

More hassle!  The entire incident was frozen all the way around for many many  weeks until  it was made right.  Many ruffled feathers and a bad taste in the mouths of every one involved.

Sometimes an unexpected delay of day or two might just mean a terrible hardship or worse.

Damn cat anyway!!!!

Josie I had a reply started when our housecat came storming across my keyboard and  POOF, erasing everything.  I am about to send that cat to you. LOL

Anyway thanks for your suggestion.

Granddad Ladd

Old Timer, you and Josie just made my day with your comments about the cat.

The cat is picked on by our dog. Dog wants to play and is sometimes kind of rough but never really hurts the cat. If cat is in no mood to be mauled over by the dog, cat will jump on a chair to desk where computer keyboard is and sit there till dog loses interest in playing with him anymore.

Cat was misused by former owner. It took many months before cat began to trust anyone again. Cat only wants to be loved and fussed with now.

Imagine if you will, a cat emerging from the high grass only to  see a strange object a few feet away.  Being curious the cat walks over to investigate.  Unsuspecting of any kind of danger from this object, the cat takes a close sniff.

Just then the mysterious object takes off like a rocket with a very loud scream.  (it really is a toy rocket that has just has had its fuse  lighted by my twelve year old son).

Both cat and rocket take off with terrific speed.  The rocket  does a "U" turn and heads back to earth screaming all the way. About two feet from the ground it takes a horizontal path.  For some unknown reason it takes the exact same path that the cat did,  actually only a foot or so over that cat's head.

Lu Ann and I watched as this took place. I'd almost swear that the cat was  putting distance  ahead of that rocket as they raced a few feet from each other.

In my 84 years I have seen many funny things. But I think this incident takes a BLUE RIBBON every time!
