See beyond the headline in this article;  enlarge the Ohio county map listing number of pipelines being planned for eastern Ohio counties;  map is on left.

MW better get subs that know what they are doing.....OEPA fines will far exceed landowner issues....great link.

And just how are these "spills" 'nasty'? I don't see a justification for that adjective in the article.

This has nothing to do with fracing and everything to do with boring holes under roads and streams for a pipeline. And no they don't use chemicals to my knowledge.

The news article linked in the opening post is, IMO, poorly done -- incomplete and possibly even misleading for some.

I have followed a pipeline construction thread with MANY project facets, inclcuding similar mud spills, discussed at this link:

http://www.naturalgasforums.com/smf/index.php/topic,5070.250.html

It is the NEPA Laser Pipeline project, including good coverage on the inadvertant flowbacks that occurred during streambed borings.

Scroll to posts #562 thruough about #599 to get insight into HDD, mud and bentonite, look and scope of inadvertant flowback.

When compiling an article, the more defining and relevant information and facts that can be assembled and disseminated, then often a better understanding can be realized by the reader.   Course, THAT may not necessarily be the intent or goal of the author.

No Ashtabula County pipelines yet discussed / indicated on the little map.

Have heard about one (1) major pipeline running along Route 11.

Read the note to the affect that locations for five (5) pipelines are not available.

Wonder why ?

I'll stick my neck out here and chalk it up to info. kept confidential to keep landowners in the dark.

Ever hear the old saying about feeling like a mushroom ?

You now - being fed bull tweed and kept in the dark.

I think it's probably applicable to landowners in Ashtabula County.

I'm thinking that they think we can't read between the lines.

They haven't caught on to the fact that we've had alot of practice on that (reading between the lines technique) - that's how we get most all of our information !

My intent in linking the article was to reference the pipelines. Personally as a landowner I am more concerned about the location of infrastructure at this point as it is an indication as to where future well sites are going to be.

If I were the reporter, two articles would have been written, not one merging pipeline locations and spills into wetlands.  But hey the reporter is in metro Columbus paved with concrete.

Yeah.
Us too.
Too bad no info. available about the other (5) five.

This is Dominion East Ohio giving a presentation at the Southeast Ohio Oil and Gas Association in spring 2012;  several maps, pgs 5, 6,11& 15 show existing pipelines and some proposed;   remember follow the infrastructure; the text is like an outline, without a lot of the detail

http://www.blueracermidstream.com/where-we-work

Here is a good map of Blueracer pipelines and proposed buildout in Ohio.

Thanks to Paul Martinelli for posting it in a discussion about Enervest seeking joint venture.

Thanks searcherone.
We're noting the Dominion pipe
running north and south in
Ashtabula County (we're reading
it as the pipe running along 11
that I wrote about earlier).

Ok, this is a voluntary listing of whom has been awarded contracts for various pipeline projects, is all inclusive of US, but it doesn't take long to skim and see OH, PA, and WV.

Answered for me who Price Gregory is as I see the trucks around, but it doesn't say pipeline on them.

In a May update at the link posted in previous post  the largest project I saw for Ohio was 118 miles of 20 inch pipeline from Muskingum County to Clinton County.   Other smaller projects are listed for OH WV PA as well as several Antero projects in WV.

representation of  Ohio counties where Bluegrass Pipeline is proposed.

May 16 edition of Monroe Co. OH Beacon reports that Percheron Field Services met with commissioners for permission to survey county owned land in Switzer twp;  also states that they are currently contacting landowners in Noble Co and soon will contact landowners in Monroe; Construction phase to begin early 2015.
