Fortuna apparently transferred our (their) rights to East - though apparently there is some reciprocity between the two. Can anyone advise whether this is a 'bad' sign (i.e. Fortuna is no longer interested?)

Also, drilling began a few months ago (last fall?)  on the next property over, within a mile of ours as the crow flies. I receive DEP permit updates daily, and neither East nor Fortuna appears to have applied for a well or drilling permit. The last activity on our property was seismic testing last summer, which went smoothly (no pun intended).

Okay, yeah, I'm impatient. Is there anybody on these boards who isn't? :)

TIA,
skc

From what I've heard there is a lot of trading back and forth between companies. They often need a specific property to fill in a unit, and have a property that the other company wants, so they trade. I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing. East has to observe the terms of your original lease.

You don't know who is drilling near you? The company often puts up a sign...I've seen East signs, anyway, at drilling sites. If it's East, maybe you will be included in that unit; maybe that's why they wanted your property? Good Luck! I'm still waiting for a decent lease offer.
I live in Canada :) My eyesight isn't *that* good. I'll research which company is on the adjacent property (Burleigh).

Good luck with the offers!

Watch for "Talisman" too; Fortuna has reverted to the parent company name.

My personal opinion is that Fortuna/Talisman is withdrawing from Tioga County, except for DCNR land they have leased and perhaps the Roseville area. (Iirc, they applied from a pipeline from there to Mainesburg. ) But that's just opinion.

I did get a lease offer from F/T near the end of last year, but assumed they would flip it to East.

No, I'm not impatient. Except to see the 6-month production figures that are supposed to be made public this fall.
Huh - we're about 8 miles from Roseville. Thanks, Ann and Lynn!
The two have partnered up before like they did in Jackson township. They also trade pieces of land like kids trade baseball cards. I just called Fortuna/ Talisman energy and they are still leasing but not in my area of Middlebury.
