Does anyone know if these gas companies and subcontractors use any compressed natural gas vehicles or do they just fill up with foreign diesel fuel?  US has Boon Pickens and corporations asking for governmental support and funding for CNG, one has to ask where the leadership is on this topic.

Willie you seem to be a real GOOF to me , I know a lot of people like you that are fast to put down a cleaner energy but have no other option other than solar or wind . I to like these up and coming helpers to our energy needs but get real . They will never be able to power our country's

needs and you know it . That is the problem with people like your self , it will not work at this time - get over it already .

When a true solution is viable I will be first in line , until then CNG is cleaner than petroleum .

Oh by the way I know a way to reduce manure methane ---> shut your pie hole <----

the Earth will get much greener !

Not over it and don't tell me what I should do..shut yours..!

William , on a serious note  how close the well site do you live and is there a compressor near you .

I have 3 pads near me one at about 1800 ft.(6 wells on each pad) one at about 3400 ft and one at about 3800 ft .Within a 4 mile radius of the house there are 34 pads (6 wells on each permitted ) most are in already .I have 4 impoundment ponds with 4 miles .One only 3800 ft,one about 1 1/2 mile.,one at 3 mile ,and the last at 4 miles.Since November 2010 they disruption from the gas drilling hasn't stopped here.We also have 3 compressors ,one already up 2 more permitted .Compressors are one at 3 miles ,2 others at bout 7 -8 miles .this is only the beginning more facilities to come .....So maybe you can see my point of view on this....I don't want any money just peace and health like it was here before !

Ridgeman, don't make fun of Willie.

I'm sure that he heats his Yurt with renewable dried cow dung.

He has no car and lubricates his bicycle chain with pure vegetable oil.

He cooks his tofu turkey on a solar stove; and when the sun does not shine, he will rub two sticks together to make a fire.

He saves his navel lint and hair from his comb to weave his own clothes (none of those synthetic fibers made from Natural Gas Liquids for Willie).

After all, Willie is no hypocrite.

Wait a second, did he not say he signed a lease in 2009; that makes his both a hypocrite and it makes him one of us!

Willie, does your lease provide for free natural gas (up to 200,000 mcf per year) for your Yurt?

All IMHO,

                JS

Jack , it's good to see reporting for duty . I knew you had it in you . I must say it's good to LOL once in a while .

I would like to know what it's like if  William or anyone  lives near a well site or a compressor .

I haven't heard much about that . That might be interesting talk .

PS.  Jack you had me at the tofu turkey !!!

my lease gives 350,000 mcf a year plus very good royalty ,this is not the point .I recycle and do what I can to conserve, also burn wood if possible ,comparing what I do and use to bring out your point of rationalizing Nat gas drilling is BS to me ,see ! I live with this process every day and the disruption it has caused here and as far as I'm concerned they can just stop and keep they damn money .Also the drilling has raised the cost of living so now it costs more for certain things .I watched them frac many wells and have documented it including the silica dust which can cover a mile or more on a windy day and when you have asthma like I do it can be a problem.I don't mean to knock progress but I do feel there is a better way of obtaining the Nat gas and this is what should be made law .Until then I do what I can to monitor the area and promote safer practice ,sorry if you don't agree !

You probably get 350 mcf per year, not 350,000 mcf. Are they actually giving you gas or payment in lieu of gas? If you have gas, why burn wood? Woodburners do more to pollute than a nat gas furnace or boiler.

Yes you are right wrong math 350,000 cu. ft a year .Signed a lease back in 9/2009 and have not seen any royalty or gas money at all and probably won't for 2 -3 years minimum .....not all the stories about nat gas are as great as they make you think....just reality   Also when you live rural it is very expensive to tap the gas if you have to run the line 1800 ft and you are also responsible for it's maintenance and liable for any problems from gas leaks  etc.Would also have to work out right of way on neighbors land and more.Just not feasible here !

You should probably look a little closer at your lease. If the drill pad isn't on your property, you probably are NOT entitled to that 350 mcf of free gas. I have yet to see a lease that gave free gas to anyone who did not have a well pad on their property. The right-of-way issue with neighbors is only one of many problems involved which keeps the free gas for the landowner with the well pad. I'm assuming you are in the Marcellus fairway and normally the operators there don't give free gas because as it comes from the ground it is unsuitable for domestic use. Normally they pay some amount in lieu of a set amount of free gas to the landowner with the well pad.

Also you can shove your tofu turkey you know where .Put smart ass comments here and you'll get it right back ,got it.!Not a hypocrite just concerned with health and destruction by a industrial process in a agricultural area.I grew up in a industrial area and this makes me much more concerned with protecting what is here !

well, somebody has to take the step, and my business has. we are planning fuel stations in pa, ny and ohio. Giant eagle is putting up at least 10-12 along 77 and 79. in the meanwhile we install bifuel systems so that you dont have to worry about it. i believe Pa will have at least 25 but more like 50 plus staions added within 12-18 months. My 83 yo mother now drives a cng car too, and she is not too worried, but we also offer small fleet fill stations but they are not very cheap, so if your neighbors want to join with you, or a small fleet nearby, we can help. we are working to make sure Pa and ny has a cng station every fifty miles along the major highways. You definitely are right that they have always been put in areas that the public doesnt see, well, we are trying to change that. we have plans for along !80 Brookville, rt8, rt322, 190 and a few others. we will keep you informed
