Just curious...
I am in Liberty township and a few months ago got an offer to buy my royalties for 1500 to 1800 per acre, but they would do a more in-depth look if I was serious which "mite change the numbers" slightly....even tho I am not drilled or receiving any royalties ..talked to a landsman rite b4 I contacted them and he advised caution as there will be "significant" activity in my area in the "near future"....how about it, anybody else get an offer or hear anything or see any activity here in Tioga Co. ?

Shell is going horizontal and fracturing the Trenton formation the DEP report shows a 4k lateral on the Neal well.
Maybe a first for TC, but there have been horizontal wells drilled into the Trenton formation. It does look like the Point Pleasant formation - between the Utica and Trenton - is the main target. (Consol/CNX has completion reports on its website.)
I Looked into this more and feel this it being misinterpreted. Using the attached Gee well permit ( target formation Trenton ) build sheet the TD pilot hole is drilled 12500 MD into the Trenton but the lateral is drilled at 11617.80 as per the end build. My feeling is the lateral is more for the development of the Utica. As shown the lateral is between the Utica and Trenton, depending on perforation and fracture direction would dictate which is target. Of course this is all speculation on my part, and based on prior development of the Trenton formation. If anyone has the build sheet on the Neal well please post, that may shed new light on subject.
Gringo: I hadn't seen this comment when I posted my last reply. Here is the link to one of the CNX completion reports.

You would never get the real lastest info unless you new someone on the inside and you still wouldn't get it they would be fired and run out of town if they got caught leaking that.I can tell you this I think Shell plans on staying here for a long time I heard they bought the Antlers Inn and the Carriage Inn on RT 6.
And even their best info isn't perfect. If one looks at the production numbers for individual wells within a single unit, they can vary significantly.
While I wouldn't fault the owners for selling the Antlers and Carriage Inns, I'd be sorry if the rumor is true. I drove S out of M'field on old 15 today looking for produce stands. Didn't see any current drilling activity, but the area has changed. There is a mix of what looks like abandoned storage/staging areas, lots parked full of vehicles, and earth moving for new construction. What will it look like 20 years from now?
I do think we are lucky to have the oil and gas company we have there very focused on ecology, environment and safety with deep pockets.I don't think they will make many stupid mistakes.Looks like they found a home in Tioga county. My mistake that was the Coach stop inn.
No matter how careful they are, it is large scale development. Which in most of TC hasn't really gotten rolling yet.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
