chk may price, paid in july was $4.12. don't have june yet.

it's possible that you are being paid tgp zone 4 price which was lower.

yo dennis! I just sent you a message on the other forum.

makes no difference the type of lease, the prices are all the same. this situation with paggie may have changed that game though, time will tell.

"...the prices are all the same."

Would they not have to apply this unit-wide, however?  Assuming the pre-deduction sales price is being specified on leases that do allow for deductions, they may be able to manipulate reported sales pricing but they would have to be uniform in the reported price across each unit (or so I would imagine).  So if someone makes it a point to request TGP4 monthly average or however this is calculated per the F'ville lease, and CHK actually takes the lessor up on this, I can't see how they could base royalty on one price for a Friendsville lessor - $3.38 noted above - and another price ($4.12) for anyone else *within the same unit.* Unit to unit, sure, but within the same unit?  Jim, are you aware of instances of something like this happening?  I imagine it would create one hell of an uproar.

PLOVER:  did everyone in your particular unit receive royalty based upon $3.38 for May sales?  Or only you?

.. I DON'T KNOW ?

moldy, up to this point I am not aware of any price disparities within the same unit from a single company. the companies pay different prices, but all mineral owners within the unit get the same price from each company regardless of their lease terms.

in fact prices seem to be very close in each unit with a couple of exceptions. about a year ago, there were price variations of about a dollar in units a few miles apart, but lately that hasn't occurred that I am aware of.

paggie may have opened up a can of worms here for himself and others, time will tell.

Jim,

I'm missing something here. What is "paggie"?

paggie is plover.

"paggie may have opened up a can of worms here"

I also wonder if that might be the case.  I have a f'ville lease and got $4.15 for April, $4.17 for May, haven't been to the post office yet to see about June.

I do know that within my unit we are all being paid on the same sales price, deductions aside, but I would be VERY interested to know if Plover is receiving royalty based on a lower price than others within the same unit.

... I'M TRYING TO REPLY TO - MOLDYOAK - BUT THERE IS NO --"REPLY"-- BELOW HIS MESSAGE ---SO

YES, I AM SURE I AM RECEIVING - THE "MIDPOINT" OF PLATT'S GAS DAILY PUBLISHED PRICE INDEX - AND EVERYONE ELSE IS RECEIVING THE DOWNSTREAM PRICE (WASP) PAID TO CHESAPEAKE FROM CEMI, IT'S AFFILIATE.  CHESAPEAKE STATED I COULD HAVE EITHER ONE, MY CHOICE, BUT NOT THE HIGHER.

SO IT APPEARS I WILL MOVE TOWARD A LEGAL ACTION.

WJ - "paggie may have opened up a can of worms here for himself and others, time will tell."

.. TRYING TO HAVE ENERGY COMPANIES COMPLY WITH THE TERMS OF A LEASE CERTAINLY CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS, BUT WHAT IS THE ALTERNATIVE - ? - THEY WILL, AND DO, IGNORE ANY TERMS THEY SO CHOOSE. THEIR CORPORATE CULTURE IS SUCH - BUT WITH THE ADVENT OF INTERNET THE AVERAGE MOPE, SUCH AS MYSELF, IS IN A POSITION TO CHALLENGE THIS ATTITUDE.

HERE IS CHESAPEAKE'S POSITION -

Here, Chesapeake sells its gas at the wellhead to an affiliate, Chesapeake Energy Marketing (“CEMI”).  CEMI, in turn, moves this gas downstream and aggregates it with other gas production, and then sells the gas to different buyers at different prices.  CEMI pays Chesapeake the weighted average sales price received for the gas sold downstream, less a marketing fee and the costs incurred between the wellhead and the downstream points of sale.

THE ABOVE STATES THAT "CHESAPEAKE SELLS ITS GAS AT THE WELLHEAD" A WELLHEAD PRICE - AND THEN GET'S PAID AGAIN DOWNSTREAM A WEIGHTED AVERAGE SALES PRICE - WASP - FROM CEMI - IT'S AFFILIATE - AFTER CEMI DEDUCTS A "MARKETING FEE" & OTHER "COST" INCURRED .....

SO - HOW DOES ONE SELL GAS AT THE WELLHEAD? - BUT BE PAID AGAIN DOWNSTREAM BY CEMI ?  AND WITH DEDUCTIONS WHICH THE FRIENDSVILLE LEASE DOES NOT ALLOW.

chk june price is $3.92

paggie, somewhere you said that you could take your choice of which way they price their gas, can you switch back? you're taking a big hit with the tgp price.
