HI, we have some friends wondering what happened to the  Heyler Well Tower today. They heard four big booms and it was gone..It isn't lit up tonight either. It has not been there that long at all. Our property is behind it.

Here is the Well Info

It is the only well there . I can' find out quickly if you'd like to know. I will do that for you.
Its ok..It is Earl's.
I don't think a vertical well takes very long to drill. Perhaps they were disassembling the rig to take it somewhere else to hold some more leases?
Ann; that's what I was thinking. East has been doing that here...drilling vertical wells to hold leases then moving on to the next well. They can really move fast that way.
There is some pretty good information available about what landowners should expect with Marcellus development. But most articles I've read fall short on cautioning how long it may be until landowners see any royalties, even if they're in a production unit.
Agreed, Ann.

So much of the drilling today is about HBP. Royalties likely remain years into the future for many of us. It'll depend on the price of natural gas, though. And right now that price is in the "turlet". If the NG price should ascend once again into the teens, well, hang onto your hat!!

I don't have specific information on the well being inquired about by the OP. But here where I live (not all that far from Nauvoo, actually) rigs are remaining up only briefly, and then moving on the the next HBP candidate pad. The gas companies don't want to lose their big bonus money if already paid, or have to pay the big bonus money for land leased years ago on the cheap. And I don't blame them a bit.
I was referring to the defined "Unit" of land declared with the PaDEP when applying for a permit.
