Even my group of adjoining acreage is having a hard sell right now. The companies we submitted to are interested but cannot take on our group just yet.

One problem that is surfacing is the blowback from all the lies circulating about Cabot in Dimock. The gas companies are not happy about what the DEP has done (wrong, just wrong!) in forcing Cabot to install a new water supply for the town. The Anti-Drill groups have created a lot of problems by twisting fact, and they are ultimately trying to shut down drilling altogether.

One of the reasons our group has not had offers is because of this. No one wants to drill near civilization if they can avoid it. Until we can shut down those clowns like Josh fox with his "Gasland" garbage movie, and Damascus Citizens, and all the other liars creating problems....well, those people are taking the bread out of our mouths at the moment. WE NEED TO SHUT THEM UP AND SHUT THEM DOWN.

In the meantime, let's keep this thread active with people who are interested in leasing their land in Wyoming County. We can be a loose group for the time being, and as things change we can become a real group if we want to.

Hey now!

Didn't die of "neglect"! More of disinterest by gas co's in leasing more land at that (and this) this time. And, as RFS said, because the parcels were widely scattered and not at all contingent.

I still have all the contact info when that picks up more, which I anticipate will happen when the pipeline issues get settled. At that point, I'll be happy to help put people in the same areas in contact with each other. What I suggest is splitting the big group into smaller groups by location, then getting -everyone- nearby, that isn't already leased, together and market your properties together.

As far as the poster in Forkston that can't find out who their neighbors are leased with, both the Citizens Voice and Times Leader newspapers have an extensive listing of that information on their websites, in searchable database form. Scroll down to the bottom of the main pages for either (I prefer the CV one, but thats just me) and you'll find "Marcellus Lease Database" Just plug in "all companies" "Forkston Township" "Wyoming County" and hit search. Tada. All you ever wanted to know about your neighbors leases.

Okay, bad wording on my part. You know.

The neglect I meant was really disinterest by gas companies who don't yet have seismic done in this area, and frankly can't be bothered with more "unproven" land when they still have a load of cheap leases to hold by production.

But we will hang in there, as ES said, divide into smaller adjoining lands, and the leasing will happen once again. It's just a temporary lull, folks.
