Rumors of a new well in Westfield township

I have heard talk of a new gas well being drilled in Westfield TWP. Anyone have any information on it?

Here is a Range Resources map for the Point Pleasant (Utica)

Tioga is the PA county right under the words "New York".  Potter county to the left, Bradford to the right.

According to the map above, we are located in the 65 to 75  GIP (point pleasant Interval) Utica deposit.

This new well drilled by Travis Peake that I am speaking about is to be drilled on John Painter's property.

It probably will not help me much but my son and Grandson should benefit in years to come.

John Painter and I had discussed the Marcellus shale deposits several years ago and how the area would be sprouting wells every couple of miles, 

In our conversations I said, "Well John, Probably you and I will be long gone before any kind of money from the gas drilling finds its way to our pockets."

Little did either of us know just how true this statement was going to be. A year or so later, my childhood friend John Painter, for about 66 years, passed away. John was about 10 years younger then me. or about 69 when he died.

I received 2 E-Notices this past week for Travis Peak activity in Westfield.  A landman has contacted us to lease our mineral rights which are due to expire w/Shell in mid September.  (Our Shell lease does not have an extension clause .)  The proposed lease with TP has issues which hopefully soon will be resolved. 

So.... no wells yet, but activity for sure.
