Just curious...

I am in Liberty township and a few months ago got an offer to buy my royalties for 1500 to 1800 per acre, but they would do a more in-depth look if I was serious which "mite change the numbers" slightly....even tho I am not drilled or receiving any royalties ..talked to a landsman rite b4 I contacted them and he advised caution as there will be "significant" activity in my area in the "near future"....how about it, anybody else get an offer or hear anything or see any activity here in Tioga Co. ?

Looks like there all in Jackson township.

That was my impression. I I did recognize some owner names.

It would appear to me that it was some sort of joint venture that Swepi had with other producers and Swepi decided to cancel joint ventures with said partner companies.

I would assume this would be good news and Shell wants all of the pie.........

It depends on what one considers "good news". The easiest way to find out was to get a copy of a document, which I did. It was filed by Repsol, but also covers the SWEPI "share".

"... the lease hereby cancels, releases and surrenders in its entirety any interest in the Lease that Repsol Oil & Gas USA [+ Talisman/Fortuna/SWEPI/East Resources Inc/East Resources Mgt] may have. ..."

The word cancel is interesting not surrender.Have not seen that wording before.Might not mean anything but different.

Ann

On your document did it give any indication of the location............?

Thanks........

It gives the Tax Parcel #, Town, and County.    The "Town" on this document is actually the municipality (Jackson).  No street address.

The leases have expired under there own terms.

Darrell,

I just checked and the cancellation also shows up under the owner's name in Landex.  (As does the 2008 lease itself.)

Where were they?  Sorry if I missed it. We’re the repsol leases within the last two years or were the much older bought out from SW or Swepi?

The properties appear to be in northeast Tioga County (and Bradford) and the leases were of 2008 vintage.  The leases have probably expired, but it is good practice to have cancellations filed ... credit to Repsol.
