I was wondering if any EEUG members would be interested in staying in contact? I think it would be a good way to trade and/or stay updated on any group information as this thing plays out. Feel free to friend me if interested.
Could someone share some info from the Jan. 5th meeting for those of us who couldn't make it? It would be much appreciated!
Maybe we can get names & telephone #'s and start a GROUP at this Oil & Gas informational meeting ?

Currently, Mohican Basin Landowners is accepting land from the Northern townships of Coshocton County. My land is in Washington Towship therfore my land is too far south for that group.
If I can get more of my neighbors in Washington Township to join with me then I may have a chance to join with the Killbuck Valley group. My problem is existing wells and old leases on the neighboring properties.
I'm confused.
Do both Killbuck Valley Land Association AND Mohican Basin Landowners Associate consider landowners in Coshocton County eligible for membership?
Is there any distinction based on township within the county?
Thanks in advance for clarification.

Mohican Basin Landowners Association is a nonprofit group of landowners in Ashland, Coshocton, Holmes, Knox, Richland and Wayne counties with over 300 members and 55,000+ acres of land. The Association continues to accept small and large contiguous parcels of land. Our objective is to provide information about current oil and gas lease concerns and grow the MBLA into a marketable group. We have developed an industry approved 27 page landowner friendly lease to better protect your land. Membership is only $35 plus $1/acre with a $50 minimum and a $500 maximum. We are nearing the end of our membership drive, and will then seek the best opportunity for our MBLA members.

My husband and I have land in Clark Township. We support the idea of forming a non-profit landowners association -- one that is organized and run by the members rather than one set up by a third party who takes a percentage of any lease proceeds.
Landowners need to increase their bargaining power and gain access to information and expertise by forming such an association.
We have met several of the folks who lead the Mohican Basin Landowners group and have read their mission statement. They would be a good model to follow. You can see their web site at http://www.mohicanbasinlandowners.org/
As of this date, we have not been contacted by and prospective lessees or their agents.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
