It might be useful to also ask your question in the Bradford County group; they are further along. Over the last couple years, a good bit of the drilling in TC has been to hold leases that are about to expire. (Otherwise, the gasco would have to pay a way higher bonus to re-lease the properties.) A single well has been drilled in a drilling unit and then the well has been shut-in. There is some sign the gathering pipelines are now being intalled to be able to produce/market gas from those wells.

No question that the Marcellus Shale is the real deal. But you may have to wait to see any royalty checks. I'd also guess that there are more people participating in the forum who aren't receiving royalties than those who are. So if you don't get many positive replies, that doesn't necessarily mean there aren't TC landowners receiving royalties.
As Ann says, the pipelines are lagging behind the well drilling so it could be a little while before royalties start coming in for much of Tioga County. But they will come: the gas companies are in this to make money, and landowners will get their share. Once you lease, you'll have your bonus money to play with until the royalties start flowing. My neighbor bought a new pickup truck and a couple of ATVs to keep himself happy.
I would guess that when a person begins to recieve royalties his/her gas lease questions are settled and they will not monitor this site very much. Later on of course, when discrepencies in the amounts of royalties arise, whole new discussions will surface over how royalties are calculated and utilized.
We started getting royalties 2 months ago. I think it was worth it. We're getting royalties from 2 wells . We live in Gaines, Tioga County. Right now gas prices are down so we didn t get what we thought , but still quite a bit. The well also was producing a lot in the beginning now it slowed down. We waited about 2 years before we saw anything. We did put up with a lot of noise around us. Terrible roads, which they fixed. We signed with Ultra and they've been pretty goood so far to deal with. They are the only one's drilling in our area. Whenever we have a question they get right back to us. Hope that helps
Dolores, thanks for the info but i am just curious can you give us a range in Dollars what the average monthly check might be I am not asking for specifics but a general range.
Thanks
We have 24 acres . without getting specific. We get anywhere between $2,000 & $4,000. Now keep in mind thats for 2 wells . same well pad. Also keep in mind the price of natural gas is down. I was told by Ultra that a few years ago it was up to $9.00. The well also produced pretty good in the beginning then cut back. So it really depends on a lot of different factors. Where are you located anyway?
I have 78 acres in North Fork, Potter Co. just over the Tioga border and 7 miles from the Cowanesque high school. I am almost exactly 1 mile from two different well heads which are about a mile apart. When you say that you have 2 diferent wells is that 1 vertical and 2 horizontal? how is that figured?
The unit we're in has 2 horizontal wells.Same pad. We are supposed to be involved in another unit also. 18 acres. What township are you in. I'll check the Rlstore website to see how many wells are around you.
Do the horizontal wells both come out of the same Vertical casing? and if they do how many wells can come off one Vertical casing? What $$s are being offered lately (if you have heard) for signing bonuses and % for royalties?
thanks for being so open and sharing with all of us:)
Dolores,
What is the Ristore website i am not familiar with this?
rlstore.com. I think I paid $20.00 to join for a year. It has all the counties in Pa. involved in drilling. maps of the wells, permits , lots of other stuff. You should join. Thats how i keep track of the permits i my area
Do U know it this site have the production units listed on it?
Thank You,
