Guess who runs NAPE?
About NAPE
x
"The North America Prospect Expo, better known as NAPE is the world's largest E&P (upstream) expo. NAPE Expo provides a marketplace for the buying, selling and trading of oil and gas prospects and producing properties via exhibit booths. NAPE is the premier E&P networking venue - where one can see what's going on throughout the entire oil patch in two days.

The goal of the NAPE staff is to offer you the best market place possible for creating deals. With this in mind, NAPE brings prospects and producing properties (from the U.S. and around the world), capital formation, services and technologies all together in one location, creating an environment to establish strategic alliances for doing business and initiating purchases and trades."
Do not expect these guys to be offering great deals to local farmers.
Remember that the job of the professionals is to get your land on the best possible terms. If you chase after buyers at some conference like this, why would they offer top price. They already know you are anxious to sell.
Makes no sense.
When they are ready and want to buy, they come and see you. Again and again until thy get all the essential property that is needed to expand the reserves and drill for the next ??? years.

j rick; go to http://www.napeexpo.com/ for schedules.  The recent event in Pittsburgh was the first they ever had outside of Houston so the are evaluating the turnout and will decide later whether they will schedule another.  Keep in mind that they have substantial charges to get in......was $285 just for Friday.

j. rick    the NAPE - East convention was last Wed thru Fri @ the David L. Lawrence Center in Pgh.  Jim's saying it was setting the foundation for more interaction and dialogue possibly enabling leasing between the O&G folks and those representing landowners.

Jim can you tell me when and where these pgh meetings take place or have taken place? and how one can find out about them? thankyou in advance

Jesse;  I know people are anxious for news.  But an event like NAPE East is not designed to make a deal. These are complex issues that take a lot of back and forth. And some companies don't even want to be seen at a particular booth so as to not tip their hand. One guy stopped by a half hour after the show ended for the night.

Not a lot to say other than we made a lot of good contacts.  The next few weeks will be when the work gets done. Then the meetings in May may have news...or maybe not.  Hard to say at this point.  One great thing is that nat gas prices have jumped way up and will give the companies more confidence on making long term financial commitments.

Jessee;  Thanks, I needed a laugh this morning. Cx is having a series of member-only update meetings at various locations to tell members about NAPE East and other news. The WEBEX meeting is for people that can't attend the member meetings in oerson.  A lot of people work evenings, are traveling, and/or live out of state.  We have even held meetings in the Pittsburgh area for people that own land up north as a lot of people do.

These meetings will discuss what happened at NAPE East, follow ups with companies, and perhaps details on offers or what is being discussed.

There will be other meetings open to the public that anyone can attend.
