Very Confused

4 sons have inherited mineral rights (along with other heirs) in Greene Co. (Gilmore Township) Since there are many people involved that know nothing about any of this, everyone is really floundering. All have signed leases, but contact with the leasing company (Domain E&D) is not very good. Because of the pending and closing of the sale to Consol on (April 30) . Does anyone know if any drilling has started in Gilmore Township, and what we can expect from Consol. Help.

To all the nay says on nat/gas, heres your sign-CHEMUNG COUNTY NY HAS 20% INCREASE IN SALES TAX REVENUE !

A 20% increase? In Chemung County NY? Hah! Airport is booming, hotels, restaurants, folks are spending money. In the Star Gazette (4/15/10) they failed to mention OR even suggest the fact of those "gas well company's" setting up shop here in Horseheads are responsible for it! Sue is right! With the new hydraulic fracturing technology proving efficacious, Washington should give priority to shale gas exploration. Of course the vulnerable areas should be restricted for environmental reasons, but with its dropping cost of exploration, Shale is the future - RK

depth severance

If the object is to lease only the Marcellus, the lease should only include the Marcellus shale and strata 100' above and below that formation.

Depth Severance

I'm close to signing a lease for my property in SW Butler County. I requested a top and bottom depth severance. The addendum came back with A top severance of 400' above the tully formation to the surface and the bottom is below the base of the Oriskany formation. What are the approximate depths of these formations in SW Butler County? Also Is the bottom depth deeper than required for the Marcellus? Is the company getting the next gas producing fromation included at this depth?

Chesapeake expanding 640 acre tracts.

I am having a hard time understanding how chesapeake expanding units from 640 acres to 800 plus acres would help me. We were originally with Anadarko lease which specified 640 acre units. Chesapeake bought out lease and are asking to modify to 800+ acres for $10. Chesapeake claims royalties would be greater. Thanks.
